Full description of the position

SE Regional Business Development Representative

Compensation: Negotiated commission based, on new jobs only; will entertain a mutually agreed upon Sales Representative contract.

Reports to: Sales Manager

Location: SE region of the United States

Summary of Position:

The Business Development Representative is responsible for all activities related to Sales for the corporation within the S.E. region. This person is responsible for developing and maintaining new customer relationships. Region includes North and South Carolina, Alabama, Georgia, Tennessee, and eastern Kentucky.

Position Objectives

  • Develop new customers within the region.
  • Maintain good business relationship once customer is established.
  • Build sales portfolio of ductile iron castings and machined castings to OEM customers
  • Gross Sales revenue targets of:
    • End of Year 1 $250,000
    • End of Year 2 $500,000
    • End of Year 3 $1,000,000

Key Responsibilities

  • Business development for ductile iron castings and machined castings in the S.E. Region
  • Targeted market of 5 lb to 65 lb castings; stated EAU’s of 500 or greater
  • Evaluate, and provide ongoing analysis of market conditions, pricing strategies and customer pricing reviews and updates.
  • Prepare annual sales/revenue forecast per client, per State, and per industry
  • Work closely with Customer Service for communications with customers on pricing changes, lead times, etc.

Job Requirements

  • B/A in Business or a B/S in Engineering, preferred
  • 5+ years outside sales experience to OEM customers
  • Efficient with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints
  • Work with clients to convert multiple piece weldment/fabrication into a single casting
