Description:

The Catering Event Sales Planner is responsible for soliciting new customers, and detailing event logistics in the venue’s continuing effort to deliver outstanding guest service and financial profitability. This is a rare opportunity to sell and execute catering events with the largest privately owned catering company on the East Coast. It's a seller's dream with over 15,000 square feet of fabulous event space.

The ideal candidate will have 1+ years of catering sales experience, a positive can-do attitude, passion for service and creativity with superior written and verbal communication skills. Specifically, the Catering Event Sales Planner would be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:

• Drive sales from lead inquiry to close, interacting with diverse clients and leaders from various market segments including social and corporate events.
• Represent Martin’s Caterers through preparing proposals and other external sales presentations to prospective customers to solicit and close catering business.
• Meet with and entertain customers, conduct property tours, promote the venue and our services to book new business and retain existing clients.
• Manage all aspects of the customer relationship including responding to customer inquiries, drafting proposals, contracts and documenting event details.
• Detail event logistics and communicate to the operations departments and team members responsible for event execution.
• Provide consultation to customers to ensure we create unforgettable experiences within their budget.

Requirements:

The Catering Event Sales Planner serving Martin’s Caterers is always working on behalf of our clients and working with other Team Members.

To successfully fill this role, the following requirements must be met:

• Associates degree, preferably specializing in Hospitality, Food & Beverage and or equivalent experience is required. Experience may be substituted in lieu of required degree.
• 1+ years of catering sales and events execution experience
• Excellent communication skills
• Proficient with Microsoft Office products and CRM software.

Preferred:

• Experience with both corporate and social events in spaces of 10K square feet or more.

Schedule:

• Monday - Friday 9-5:30pm
• Limited Weekend (Alternating Saturdays 9am-3pm during January/February only)

Supplemental Pay:

• Commission paid monthly in addition to a generous base salary.
