Full description of the position

Overview:

Our Fort Worth, TX market is seeking a full-time Business Development Manager for Food Service. The ideal candidates will have a strong proven background in the development and growth of sales in the food service sector to include Fast Casual, Food Production/Processing, Convenience Stores and Grocery sectors. This role will identify other food service sectors for future development. They will also be involved in the recruitment and development of a food service focused sales team. In this role, you are responsible for maintaining and expanding a portfolio of customers to maximize sales and profits of foodservice products and value-added services. The qualified candidate must be a strategic thinker and innovative planner that can identify business opportunities, build positive customer relations, and maintain account relationships while seeking and cultivating new accounts.

Responsibilities:
The responsibilities for a Business Development Manager for Food Service include:
  • Develops sales documentation including but not limited to spreadsheets, correspondence, sales proposals, presentations, and internal paperwork for new customer proposals and presentations.
  • Develops and implements a sales action plan with objectives and strategies to increase revenue and aggressively acquire new accounts.
  • Grows existing accounts to full potential and generates maximum revenue on a long-term basis.
  • Hires, trains, supervises, motivates, and develops business development staff; manages schedules and workflow.
  • Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
  • Develop and grow sales in the food service sector to include Fast Casual, Food Production/Processing, Convenience Stores and Grocery sectors.
  • Identify other food service sectors for future development.
  • Assist in the recruitment and development of a food service focused sales team.
  • Responsible for maintaining and expanding a portfolio of customers to maximize sales and profits of foodservice products and value-added services.
  • Other duties as needed.
Qualifications:
The qualifications for a Business Development Manager for Food Service include:
  • Minimum of 3 years food service and related experience.
  • Must have prior sales management experience in the food service sector.
  • B2B sales experience
  • BS/BA degree preferred
  • Experience in janitorial, sanitation, and/or foodservice distribution, sales preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written presentation skills, organizational and time management skills, strong desire to build new business, strong work ethic and attention to details, excellent customer service skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
