Purpose:

ARAG is hiring a national accounts director! This person will build new relationships and strengthen existing partnerships within a large client portfolio of major national clients. Robust relationship management experience is required. The ability to develop and execute a strategic plan while prioritizing multiple projects in a fast-paced environment is also required.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: ARAG is hiring a national accounts director! - Develop and execute on sales/renewal goals and strategies to build and strengthen relationships and drive exceptional client growth, profitability, and retention.
- Serve as the main point of contact and manage overall client satisfaction and trust by meeting and exceeding service agreements and ensuring outstanding service.
- For new and existing major accounts, leverage other internal resources as appropriate to identify, implement and monitor complex client projects ensuring clients’ and ARAG’s needs are met.
- Manage renewal process to retain existing clients and in-force premium. Create strategy around, manage and oversee product up sell, renewal and stewardship activities.
- Collaborate with ARAG executive sponsors, underwriting, product, finance, client support services, and other departments as appropriate to support strategic account plans to optimize revenue opportunities and renewals. Establish and maintain effective working relationships with other managers and distribution personnel.
- Collaborate interdepartmentally with other Client Managers to ensure revenue and service goals are met.
- Build, strengthen and maintain relationships at all levels of the client organization; collect and clarify information; and communicate program plans and progress. Manage communications between ARAG and client portfolio accounts.
- Engage in collaborative and consultative problem solving both internally and with clients to enhance the partnership, including effectively resolving service issues in a timely manner, and offering creative product and service solutions to address clients’ evolving needs.
- Conduct client meetings to review overall performance and client’s benefits strategies.
- Oversee the creation, management and evaluation of open enrollment strategies to drive revenue growth including identifying clients warranting additional investment (e.g. direct mail).
- Identify, manage, and prioritize new business development opportunities from existing client portfolio and broker/consultant relationships. Partner with Sales to execute a seamless installation and achieve maximum on all new clients. Participate in the enhancement of processes contributing to achieving this goal.
- Negotiate contracts on ARAG’s behalf and ensure contractual obligations are met.
- Coordinate internal communications regarding clients. Provide support to other internal teams on client requests.
- Ensure client data is accurate and maintained effectively within internal systems.
- Monitor, evaluate, and report on client results and renewal goals.
- Mentor and coach client managers to expand strategic client management skills as needed. Assist them with identifying and implementing strategies and initiatives to generate growth opportunities through large employer.
- Maintain general understanding of internal systems and processes. Make recommendations for improvements.
- Serves as a positive role model by representing the ARAG at its Best and Leadership at its Best.
- Perform other duties and special projects as needed.
Knowledge
- Specific knowledge and experience with client management, and relationship building is required – sales experience preferred.
- Experience with business strategies, strategic account planning, and creating and managing strategic account plans for clients. Working knowledge of insurance products and/or employee benefits, and understanding of product distribution channels is preferred.
Skills
- Strong relationship building, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
- High level of skill and experience with sales including forecasting and budgeting.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to clearly present information to a varying audience.
- Experience in consultative selling concepts with high level benefit decision makers – even those up to “C-level” executives if appropriate (CEO, CFO, COO, etc).
- Advanced organizational skills, strong attention to detail and the ability to balance multiple, rapidly changing priorities.
- Strong leadership abilities; Ability to coach and mentor a team.
- Ability to work independently as well as a team-based collaborative environment.

- High level of comfort and usage of CRM system as crucial tool (Salesforce).

Education
- Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing or communications from an accredited college or university or related work-experience. MBA, advanced degree, or other professional certifications preferred.
Experience
- 7-10+ years of experience in the field of client management, or sales required as either an individual producer or manager. Legal services experience preferred.

- None. Insurance licensing preferred.
Physical
- At least 25% travel required throughout the year as deemed necessary and appropriate. Travel can vary depending on time of year, and extent and timing of relationship or new business opportunities.
