Design Integrity is an innovative new product design and development consulting firm located in Chicago. We recently celebrated our 24th anniversary. Our firm has expanded in recent years, which has created opportunities for us to grow our staff. We are currently looking for a business development and sales manager to help our team to manage client relationships and develop new sales opportunities.

• Primary responsibilities involve commissioned sales from both new and existing accounts.
• Engage with client contacts on a daily basis with the goal being to engage in new project development, innovation, and research & development projects for client companies.
• Set up capabilities presentations with clients’ senior management, engineering, and marketing contacts.
• Uncover leads for new project contracts.
• Lead the development of new accounts as well as the growth of existing accounts.
• When proposals are requested for new projects, the business development manager will serve as the primary client contact during the development of the initial cost estimates, the presentation of proposals, related negotiations, contract execution, and initial project kick-off.
• Drafting of the initial work estimates (budgets) and proposals for review and collaboration with company managers.
• Final proofing and submittal of paperwork including contracts to clients, with assistance from managers within the company, to ensure that the proper contracts are in place before each project starts.
• Responsible for the processing of change orders (amendments to contracts), timely payment of open invoices from clients, and the expediting of late payments.
• Check in with clients as project work progresses including participation in project meetings to ensure that client needs and expectations are being met.
• Travel as required to meet with clients at their off-site locations, though a high percentage of the time will be spent in-house, on the phone, or working on new sales initiatives (planning, research, targeted contact points with clients, etc.).
• Support company marketing efforts, as needed.

Qualifications:

• BS/BA degree in a technical field or in business administration. For those with technical degrees, a BSME or BSEE degree would be preferred.
• 5 years or more of sales and business development experience, preferably in a technical or consulting field.
• Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation, and time-management skills.
• Knowledge of the new product development process for mechanical and electro-mechanical devices and systems would be beneficial.
• Computer proficiency including the Microsoft Office suite.
• Working knowledge of ACT! contact management software would be beneficial.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $60,000.00 - $200,000.00 per year
