Summary

We are looking for a multi-talented candidate to fill a Technical Sales role in our Baton Rouge, LA location. The Technical Sales will be tasked with evaluating and pricing inquiries related to our product lines as well as order entry and order management.

Responsibilities

Sells corporate products to business and industrial establishments or individuals via phone, fax, email by performing the following duties.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Respond to all customer inquiries by determining material availability, conformance to customer requirements, and delivery to secure orders
• Compiles lists of prospective customers for use as sales leads, based on information from inquiries, and other QRC personnel
• Makes outbound lead follow-up calls to potential and existing customers by telephone and e-mail to qualify leads and sell products and services
• Maintain customer quote files and effective follow-up
• Overcomes technical and business objections of prospective customers
• Advise management on product inventory needs
• Quotation hit ratios, Won/Loss reports
• Emphasizes salable features, quotes prices and credit terms, and prepares sales orders for orders obtained
• Estimates date of delivery to customer, based on knowledge of own firm's production and delivery schedules
• Builds and maintains customer relationships
• Works with outside sales representatives to keep account activities and literature up to date
• Investigates and resolves customer problems with deliveries
• Assists in coordinating with inventory manager and other outside material sources for costs associated with products being quoted
• Coordinates with Engineering and Purchasing on entry of new product items into system database
• Conforms to all aspects of sales to Export Compliance requirements as set by US Govt law and QRC Valves rules
• Aid in meeting or exceeding planned sales objectives
• Oversee cycle count process and keeping inventory correct
• Ensuring cycle counts are accurate and updating inventory accordingly
• Filling in as needed when short staffed
• Checking orders thoroughly and shipping the orders to customers
• Assist warehouse manager in ordering supplies and making sure we have enough supplies to run as efficiently as possible

Qualifications

• 2-3 years of Inside Sales Experience selling industrial valves
• Thorough understanding of Industry Standards, Testing, and Requirements
• Proficient with Excel, Word, Power Point required
• Forklift certification
• Knowledge of ERP Systems and/or order entry and inventory systems required. Epicor Prophet 21 is a PLUS
• Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
• Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public
