We are seeking a results-oriented individual to work as a Senior Employee Benefit Account Manager in a fast paced and rapidly growing environment. Reporting directly to the Vice President of Group Operations, theSenior Employee Benefit Account Manager is responsible for the day-to-day account management including marketing, data analysis, presentation, and servicing of fully insured and self-funded plans for routinely/moderately complex mid-large group client accounts. The incumbent manages an assigned book of business and builds, expands, and solidifies relationships with existing clients.

This critical role will lead and support large Group Benefit clients: Medical, Dental, Long Term Disability, Life, & Vision benefits is required. The ideal candidate will also have a strong knowledge in insurance risk concepts, federal and state regulations and legislation, and analytical / financial skills. Applicants will need to be an energetic self-starter, organized, team player, and able to prioritize responsibilities and objectives in a fast paced environment. Senior Client Relationship Manager will have a minimum of 5 years industry experience and have an active Life and Health License at a minimum.
Key Responsibilities:
- Take lead on designated renewals: prepare RFP, collect and review competitive proposals, and prepare renewal presentation illustrating market offerings.
- Provide administrative support to an assigned block of clients.
- Resolve the most complex customer service problems directly.
- Day-to-day contact for client for service needs.
- Escalate client concerns when appropriate.
- Conduct client meetings, including open enrollment employee meetings.
- Maintain data integrity and quality with any applicable software on a timely basis.
- Prepare financial and claims utilization reporting.
- Coordinate employee communications for enrollment.
- Oversee new client set-up, renewals and open enrollment meetings.
- Establish and preserve a solid business rapport with clients and vendors.
- Educate clients on applicable legislation and market trends.
- Generate client interest in additional lines of coverage and cross serving opportunities.
- Coach and assist less tenured client services staff.
- Additional responsibilities as assigned.
Education and Experience:
- 5 + years of account management / client relationship management experience in the group health and welfare benefits field
Key Competencies / Qualifications:
- Must possess and preserve required licenses/certifications as required (must have the MD Life and Health certification).
- Strong knowledge of federal and state legislation and legal issues related to the insurance industry.
- Detail-oriented, organized, and flexible individual able to perform multiple tasks with varying priorities under fast paced conditions requiring speed and accuracy
- Excellent written and verbal communication, and presentation skills
- Strong management, analytical, research, and problem solving skills
- Ability to work collaboratively as a team member
- Must be able to travel based on client and business needs.
- Proficient in MS Office Suite in Windows platform, specifically Excel, Word, and Outlook - SMARTSHEET experience preferred
