At Home Furnishings is looking for a sales associate to join our fashion team. This person will actively seek out and engage prospective customers to help them with our offering of clothing, jewelry, and accessories. As a part of our fashion sales staff, this person will also be responsible for maintaining the boutique area's appearance, restocking inventory, and various daily tasks that keep the business running effectively.
The ideal candidate is interested in customer interaction, driven by helping others and achieving goals, and passionate about contributing to the overall success of our store.
Responsibilities:
- Acquire and demonstrate product knowledge and vendor information - as training progresses, employees are expected to readily answer customer questions pertaining to our fashion merchandise.
- Develop and foster relationships - Maintain active communications with customers in store to effectively meet their expectations and promote customer retention.
- Meet and exceed targets - Ensure that individual sales potential is reached in order to help our team achieve monthly and yearly sales goals.
- Understand target market - Stay aware of industry trends, best practices, and the overall customer of At Home Furnishings, particularly our fashion customer.
- Employ advanced customer service skills - Make sure that customers are a top priority and their needs and interests are being consistently met.
Requirements:
- 1-2 years experience in retail and/or involvement with fashion or merchandising
- Excellent ability to manage and build relationships
- Demonstrated ability to meet and exceed sales goals
- Advanced interpersonal communication skills
- Drive to understand and meet prospective customer needs
- Willingness to work as a team and take direction from sales/store managers

We are a home furnishings store, located in downtown Homewood, AL. We have grown our business to include upholstery, casegoods, accessories, rugs, lighting, and a fashion boutique business.
Our employees enjoy a work culture that promotes a team atmosphere, while encouraging personal growth. Achieving sales goals is an important aspect of this company, but it is of equal importance that all employees feel their value and take ownership of their positions.
Our store is open Monday - Saturday 10am-5pm. Employees can expect a reliable work schedule, maxing at 40 hours per week. Sales associates are expected to work Monday through Saturday with one day off during the week. Employees are typically granted one Saturday off per month at their request.
