The gorgeous Campbell House Lexington - Curio Collection by Hilton is a gem located in the rolling hills of Kentucky. Our recent renovation has enhanced the classic elegance and southern charm while maintaining the rich history of this boutique hotel.
We are seeking an Express Meetings and Business Travel Sales Manager to join and help lead our star team!
BASIC PURPOSE: Plan, solicit, book, and coordinate small group/meetings plus business travel sales to meet/exceed revenue/profit goals.
ORGANIZATIONAL SCOPE: Position is responsible for negotiating room and catering rates and controls for small groups of 10 to 50 people and/or 10-50 rooms or less. Also responsible for solicitating, booking and maintaining business travel volume accounts.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Actively solicit corporations for inclusion in Campbell House's travel programs as well as group and meetings business through personal calls, site inspections, tele-prospecting/email-prospecting, blitzing, and sales trips to assigned territories. This includes all industries and markets of responsibility.
- Plan, upsell and detail the meeting/function with the client including space requirements, times, equipment, menus, billing instructions, etc... Complete the contracts, prepare the appropriate paperwork, coordinate with the appropriate areas in the hotel, resolve any issues, complaints, and/or problems to ensure quality product delivery and customer satisfaction.
- Negotiate, contract and monitor account agreements and productivity. Ensure rates committed are competitive and offer highest yield for the hotel to ensure maximum profitability. This includes annual rate negotiations for renewal of existing accounts and continuous acquisition of new accounts and group business in all terms.
- Solidify and maintain relationships with assigned accounts through regular sales visits, client entertainment, agency/office receptions, site inspections and repeated follow-up. Develop creative programs to ensure maximum reservations and client satisfaction for transient and group accounts.
- Respond to client requests on a same-day basis and assure that proposals and contracts meet the hotel's requirements.
Participate in trade shows and industry functions as directed.
NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Participate in community and professional organizations to maintain high visibility and promote sales.
- Perform special projects and other responsibilities as assigned and participate in task forces and committees.
Knowledge and Skills:
Education: More than two years of post-high school education.
Experience: Hotel and Delphi experience preferred. Experience required by position is two full years of employment in a related position with this company or other organization(s).
Skills and Abilities: Requires a thorough knowledge of sales/hotel policies and procedures and
the ability to determine course of action based on these guidelines. Ability to investigate and analyze current activities or information in the sales field and make logical conclusions and recommendations. Must possess communication skills in terms of the ability to negotiate, sell, and influence professionals and hotel guests.
