About us
Okra Medical is a science and innovation company in Johns Island, SC. We specialize in the development of sustainable solutions for destruction of high-risk pharmaceuticals, like opioids.
Our flagship product, SafeMedWaste, is the first commercially available chemical digestion product to offer onsite destruction of controlled substance wastage, without incineration.
We are currently seeking a highly-motivated and self-driven Distribution Sales Representative with a minimum of 5 years experience selling complex consumables to medium and large value-added medical distributors.
The position will be based at our office in Johns Island, SC. Work will be 80% inside/ 20% outside sales in the first 6-12 months (excluding tradeshow attendance). This role offers an excellent path to sales management, based on performance.

Key responsibilities: Grow market share and revenue by identifying, engaging, and maintaining partnerships with medical distributors across the USA.
Required Experience: Minimum 5 year proven track record selling into national medical distribution and reseller accounts, or hospitals/ASCs. Okra Medical verifies employment and conducts background checks during onboarding.
Required Education: Bachelor of Science, or equivalent work experience in a scientific field.
Required Core Competencies: Experience successfully selling Mid to C-level management in large large to medium sized medical distributors or hospital/ambulatory surgical centers. Self-motivated, with solid technical aptitude and critical thinking skills. Well-developed organization and time-management skills. "Hunter" drive with an ability to quickly qualify and triage potential customers.
Highly Preferred: Established relationships with nationwide medical distributors, resellers, and/or relevant healthcare businesses, where work with these accounts would not be inhibited by a non-compete agreement with former employers.
A Plus: Solid understanding of chemistry.
