Altus Group now has a unique opportunity for a Data Sales Specialist to join the established Go-To-Market team. We are looking for an experienced and high performing sales professional well versed in data and analytics product sales with a particular emphasis on selling into quantitative and data scientist audiences. This exciting new role will drive sales of our Altus Market Insights Offer by developing and fostering relationships with our largest prospective and existing target customers and respective personas to show them how Altus Market Insights can add value to their business as a long-term partner. Robust understanding of how clients use data to feed data lakes or warehouses and write proprietary formulas over those environments to expose data relationships and/or test an investment hypothesis will be a fundamental requirement for this new role.
The Data Sales Specialist will be responsible for the full sales process from initial contact through to negotiating and signing contracts for Altus Market Insights. We’re looking for somebody who can prospect and execute on new business development opportunities, collaborate with our internal enterprise account managers and strategic client partners, work autonomously within a team environment, grow and manage their own pipeline successfully, communicate effectively at all levels and ultimately exceed their objectives and targets.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop a deep understanding of our Market Insights Offer and target customer business challenges to bring expertise to the executive-level relationships to help demonstrate use-case quantifiable value propositions
- Prospect for new clients and turn this into increased business with a robust pipeline of opportunities to drive bookings and revenue targets
- Develop and execute on sales strategies to target new potential clients with support of GTM leadership
- Collaborate with our internal account managers and strategic client partners to:
o Identify our largest clients for our target segments with the highest value cross and upsell opportunities
o Develop account plans to execute on pursuing and closing these opportunities
- Lead negotiations, coordinate complex decision making with management and overcome objections to close deals
- Maintain key client relationships and support ongoing account management and customer retention
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams as required to execute on objectives
- Identify and cross-sell opportunities for all Altus Offers
- Achieve annual goals and sales targets
- Represent the company at key industry and client events, build and maintain the necessary contacts to keep current on emerging issues of significance
- Participate and contribute to new company initiatives to drive departmental and company-wide objectives
Key Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years of practical experience working in data sales
- Proven solution sales skills including competitive market research, lead generation, prospecting, business development and closing sales
- Ability to convey complex ideas and solutions in a simple and concise way to large or small audiences including c-suite
- Outstanding presentation and communication skills both oral and written
- Highly skilled in establishing, developing and maintaining key relationships with strategic accounts including c-level
- Ability to manage and thrive in a fast-paced environment
- Solution oriented mindset
- Intermediate knowledge and use of Salesforce or a similar CRM system and Microsoft Office Applications
- Extremely organized and proactive with strong time management skills
- Self-motivated with the ability to contribute both independently and as a team member
- Understanding of the CRE market is an asset
