Description
SAIC is seeking a Business Development Director to join SAIC’s fastest growing Business Unit (BU) to focus on the Department of Defense’s Indo-Pacific Command (INDOPACOM) and Air Force’s Pacific Air Forces (PACAF) Areas of Responsibility. The Air Force, DoD Agencies & Commands (AFDODAC) BU has huge momentum with recent wins in foundational Air Battle Management System (ABMS) and Joint All-Domain Command and Control (JADC2) programs; Live, Constructed, Virtual Simulation and Training; and a long history of supporting to INDOPACOM with exercise, training, and experimentation.
While viable candidates need to live on the island of Oahu, HI, for ease of customer access at Camp Smith and Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam, the position will be flexwork with occasional travel to CONUS.
The Business Development Professional is responsible for identifying, qualifying, and assisting with the capture for a robust pipeline that supports the AFDODAC BU growth objectives. Additionally, the Business Development Professional is responsible for helping manage and guide development of pursuits to include initial development, in concert with solutioning resources, of a proposed solution.

- Supporting Price to Win Strategies
- Supporting Capture Planning
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Ability to assess organizational growth objectives and align them to defined opportunity targets to ensure a robust pipeline within the INDOPACOM and PACAF theaters; manages assigned portfolio pipeline as the opportunity owner
- Strong customer engagement skills and ability to communicate SAIC solutions and capability offerings to potential customers
- Close interaction with AFDODAC BU team members including operational leadership, and SMEs to build and execute call plans to position SAIC for successful pursuits
- Supports developing teaming agreements and strategic alliances
- Effectively engages with capture manager(s) and program manager/teams to ensure opportunity objectives and initial solutioning effectively transition into capture activities.
- Communicates resource needs and leveraging resources assigned is critical to the success of every business development manager; collaborating with subject & technical matter experts, functional leads, and Program Managers
- Gathers, assesses, and validates customer requirements working closely with Capture and Program Managers - identifies related needs and constraints that impact winning solution
- Assess probable competition and evaluates relative strengths and threats – conducts or assists with black-hats, competitive scenarios, etc.
- Participates in gate reviews, pricing, teaming, and capture reviews
Qualifications
Required Education:
- Bachelor's degree and 18+ years of experience; Master’s degree preferred
Required Skills:
- Established relationships within INDOPACOM and PACAF a must
- Understanding of INDOPACOM/PACAF organizational objectives, current and projected capability needs, and related opportunities
- Recent track record successfully identifying and developing opportunities to award with a value of $100M and greater; experience with product and commercial offering sales desired
- Business experience with DoD customers with focus on innovation and technology insertion; understanding of advancements in technology and revolutionary concepts that offer potential enhancements or breakthroughs in military capabilities
- In-depth understanding of the business growth process (business development and capture management) preferred
Required Clearance
- Secret clearance required
- Top Secret clearance (with SCI eligibility) preferred
Desired Skills:
- Separated or retired Senior Officer desired
