Full description of the position

Summary:

Position is responsible for maintaining, strengthening, and broadening existing account relationships, as well as developing new accounts and key player relationships for sales in Wood Products industry in North America.

Primary Duties:

  • Achieve company, area, and individual growth and sales goals by successfully managing sales activities within area of responsibility
  • Identify and grow business opportunities with new and existing customers
  • Travel to customer locations to discuss opportunities and evaluate their facility
  • Communicate with customers to collect critical information and develop specifications, and work with engineering and sales administrator to understand/develop customer requirements
  • Assist in preparation of proposals and layout drawings
  • Balance the needs and expectations of customers with production schedules and business objectives
  • Work with management, engineering, and other staff regarding manufacturing capabilities, production schedules, and other considerations to facilitate production processes
  • Supply management with updates on customer needs, problems, interests, competitive activities, and potential for new products and services
  • Manage varying frequency of incoming requests and regularly re-assess priorities for maximizing company objectives
  • Prepare realistic sales forecasts for existing accounts and new opportunities
  • Identify emerging markets and market shifts while being fully aware of new products and competition status
  • Manage all account communications and interactions using internal CRM database
  • Verify quotations and sales order accuracy
  • Contribute to product lines development via customer and market feedback
  • Work independently with high organizational and time management skills
  • Proven ability to prioritize multiple projects with high attention to detail
  • Effective negotiation and meeting facilitation/presentation skills
  • Experience in uncovering, diagnosing, and designing technical solutions consistent with customer needs
  • Ability to travel 30%-50% domestically (North America)
  • Travel to sales and trade shows

Non-Essential Duties:

  • Work with all departments to accomplish our goals and objectives
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor

Experience:

  • This position requires maintaining a valid driver's license and ability to obtain a U.S. passport
  • Certificate or appropriate degree for listed qualifications
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience
  • Or equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the job
