Consulting Business Development Manager is responsible for creating and delivering import, export and logistics compliance offerings to prospect and existing clients to drive the growth of AFC’s Consulting vertical within the organization. The successful candidate will serve as a subject matter expert in U.S. Custom s import compliance (while building export and logistics knowledge), interfacing with internal and external customers to provide guidance and training.

Consulting Business Development Manager responsibilities and essential job functions include, but are not limited to:

• Identifies and generates new business to drive the growth of AFC’s Consulting business
• Consult with prospect and existing clients to assess needs and develop solutions
• Provide expert guidance and strategic recommendations to new business leads and customers
• Source and onboard new Consulting clients
• Develop and facilitate effective presentations and training, deliver live customer seminars, video content, field client questions and assist in continuous improvement of Consulting team processes, procedures and service offerings.
• Cross sell the company’s services in a global team environment
• Provide high quality U.S. Customs knowledge and expertise to existing and prospect clients
• Develop expertise in import, export and logistics to advance these consulting lines
• Assist with development of marketing campaigns and brand development to promote consulting services
• Establish and develop prospect and existing customer relationships
• Participate in sales and business development activities
• Drive continuous improvement ensuring best practice sharing and constant drive for cost excellence
• Keep current with developing trends and new regulations within import and export programs
• Manage, mentor, and build a team that provides unmatched customer service selling our solutions

Qualification, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Bachelor's Degree in related field of study or equivalent education plus work experience
• U.S. Customs Broker License preferred
• 5+ years’ relevant experience in Customs Brokerage
• Previous experience developing, implementing and facilitating Customs import training
• Working knowledge and understanding of U.S., Canada and Mexico border Customs regulations
• Highly knowledgeable in all areas of import, export regulations and other agency requirements
• Highly self-motivated, results-driven and strategically minded
• Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
• Detail oriented with excellent analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills
• Ability to effectively facilitate meetings, work sessions, and trainings
• Previous experience with transportation management systems/software; CargoWise preferred
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
• Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently
