The Billing and Account Manager’s mission is to help maximize firm revenue through patient financial standing, posting payments, insurance authorization oversight, and AMD championship. The position helps patients and insurers understand their financial obligations and expedites the collection of payments and balances. This position works with other staff and business partners to accurately transact, record and account for billings accounts from all services provided.

Under general direction of the Director of Operations, the Billing and Account Manager will plan, organize, coordinate and participate in the functions below:
Responsibilities:
Medical Records Requests
Post Payments
Verifies patient information and other data for accuracy to prevent reimbursement delays
Make and field calls from patients and insurers concerning individual and insurance coverages, charges, and payments
Complete verification of benefits investigation both online via insurance portal or over the phone
Scanning and sending EOB’s
Collecting MediSoft Payments for patients having received DOS prior to 9/26
Authorization /Referral input and oversight
Confirming charge slips for each appointment
Fields questions and resolves issues from providers, staff, patients, and vendors regarding insurance
Take calls from patients/staff/billing department regarding patient financial accounts
Completed itemized account reviews on patient accounts by request
Aid in generating reports using system data in AMD
Put together daily reports indicating patient due balances for the next day for accounts with a balance of $500
Communicate with clinical staff on financial compliance of our patients for purpose of reporting to relevant reporting agents
Assist in training new staff and in how to use our EMR system as appropriate
Primary contact for support with AMD
Review missed visits report and send message to staff about visits that have not yet been billed
Troubleshoot problems with accessing old records I prior systems (Best Notes)
Set up new user accounts and reset PW for Advanced MD
Correct errors reported in AMD as they come up (i.e., unsigned duplicate notes/etc.…)
Coordinate for new prescribers and aid in getting their e-prescribing set up
Call patients regarding their balance as needed
Certified mail and any bank deposits
Backup front desk
Assist staff in completion of fee summaries and answering patient questions regarding financial status
Review accounts from billing prior to sending to collections or issuing refunds to ensure accuracy
Other general tasks as necessary
Compensation Range: $45-55k
Compensation will be dependent upon geographic region, education, and experience
Bachelor’s degree in related area or associate degree in Medical Administrative Billing and Coding with compensating work experience.Minimum of 3 years of practical experience in health care billing and coding, preferably in behavioral health
Functional knowledge of our policies, procedures, billing system, E.H.R. and Practice Management systems.
Knowledge of confidentiality and state regulations.
Obtain BLS, CPR, AED, and First Aid certification within 90 days of hire
Must possess a current driver’s license and be in good standing
