PHC is a pediatric private duty nursing company servicing medically complex children. PHC’s model was created using the experience of many years of industry knowledge. Case management is a cornerstone of our model and the main responsibility of the Account Manager.
Responsibilities
The PHC Account Manager 1 (AM1) serves a central role in coordinating PHC operations. They establish and maintain relationships with staff and clients in order to facilitate, coordinate, and schedule quality pediatric home care delivery. The AM1 organizes and maintains key operational documents, creates communications and correspondence, coordinates work schedules, schedules meetings, and produces and maintains key correspondence. In addition, the AM1 must have a commitment and passion for being part of a team providing quality care for children. They also must demonstrate mature business acumen, commitment to excellence, and desire for lifelong learning. Other key activities include:
Conduct support activities in alignment with PHC’s vision, mission, and philosophy.Build successful and sustainable relationships between clients, staff, and PHC.Coordinate efficient and effective field staff schedule management.Maintain awareness of staff capabilities, client expectations, and recurring operational and service delivery issues.Exhibit superb organizational skills.Display the ability to identify and solve complex problems using initiative and sound judgment.Demonstrate effective oral and written communication skills.Manage conflict resolution, grievances, and complaints.Promote conformity with PHC policies and procedures.Maintain compliance with relevant laws and regulations.Support ethical behavior of all PHC staff.Participate in and lead effective team building.Consult with PHC leadership and staff to implement operational strategies.Be available for On-Call [please apply online] other duties as assigned.
Coordination Responsibilities:
Family Interview:AM1s provide critical coordination roles with patients, families of patients, and healthcare providers. They are also essential to supporting and promoting the differences between other companies and the PHC philosophy and process. The family interview is intended to educate the families and evaluate the home setting. The focus is on the differences in the PHC team building approach and continuity of care, including:

Direct Care Team Building:The team building approach begins with the interview and hiring process. Recruitment focuses on nurses desiring a full time, long-term employment opportunity with benefits. They will work 12-hour shifts and rotating weekends. It is preferred that they have trach/vent experience and they must be comfortable with the PHC wage model.
Training:Following an initial orientation, ongoing training is needed to keep nursing competencies up to date. There are also specific training topics of particular benefit for the nurses, including Family Management, Professional Boundaries, and Conflict Resolution.
Job Qualifications:
Education: High School Graduate (4-Year College Degree Preferred)Experience: 3-5 years customer service or related experience; healthcare sector or private duty nursing experience is preferred.Skills: Proven written and oral communication skills; excellent listening, interpersonal and organizational skills; problem-solving and conflict resolution skills; proficiency with basic office software programs, including spreadsheets, databases, word processing, and graphic presentation software.Abilities: To work under pressure, balance demands, display flexibility, promote teamwork, exercise emotional intelligence and maturity.Transportation: Has access to reliable transportation.
Environmental and Working Conditions
Works in a routine office environment. Noise level may be moderately high, the ability to work a flexible schedule and extended hours. Ability to travel locally and some exposure to inclement weather.
Physical and Mental Effort:
Prolonged sitting and some standing required. Occasional need to lift, pull, carry and push items weighing up to fifty pounds. Frequent need to stoop, kneel and reach while accessing files. Requires working under stressful conditions to meet deadlines and employer and employee needs. Requires hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity. Requires excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
