Job Title:
Relationship Manager (Service)

Reports To: RM Team Lead or Executive

Classification: Full Time – Exempt


Core Purpose

The service-focused Relationship Manager serves as the primary contact for clients and is responsible for building strong individual, family, and company relationships. While demonstrating a thorough knowledge of services provided by TTC, this position will also be responsible for achieving performance standards and maintaining a culture of outstanding service as a fiduciary to The Trust Company of Tennessee’s clients.


Responsibilities

  • Shows a commitment to The Trust Company’s Mission, Core Values, and Client Promise.
  • Maintains positive client relationships by meeting with clients regularly (annually, semi-annually, monthly, etc.) to review accounts, discuss personal/life changes, and update and discuss client holdings and IPS.
  • Provides superior client services by providing follow-up documentation and responses to clients and associated professionals – including all meeting summary letters and correspondence.
  • Upholds fiduciary standards when serving TTC clients.
  • Responds promptly to client communication and requests.
  • Serves as the primary contact for clients and beneficiaries for account and distribution requests.
  • Monitors overall profitability of relationships and, within established guidelines, communicates scope, fees, and structures to the mutual benefit of the client and TTC – including required documentation and paperwork.
  • Delivers proactive client management based on client goals and objectives.
  • May review and interpret trust agreements, wills, contracts, and other estate planning documents to limit regulatory and legal risk.
  • Utilizes a high degree of creativity and independence in developing and retaining business.
  • Collaborates with internal teams/committees, relationship managers, operations specialists, and customer service representatives in order to provide an outstanding client experience.
  • Within established parameters, provides guidance to Retirement Plan Services clients on plan administration.
  • Within established parameters, provides guidance to Wealth Management clients concerning additions and distributions. This would include tax consequences.
  • Identifies and secures New Business Opportunities through existing clients, referrals, and/or participation in TTC Sponsored Events.
  • Possesses, maintains, and develops industry-specific technical knowledge.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance preferred
  • Three to five years of experience in relationship and investment management (specific to line of business: Retirement Plans, Personal Trust, Wealth Management)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work with a wide range of client personalities and demographics
  • Experience with High Net Worth clients a plus
  • Organized and detail-oriented
  • Must be able to multi-task and prioritize multiple deadlines
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
