Essential Duties
- Serves as an advisor and consultant to clients in order to assess risks and provide innovative solutions to complex risk-related business issues.
- Demonstrates fluency in loss sensitive programs including retrospective rating, large deductible, and OCIP programs. Must be able to develop loss rate, loss projections, and collateral adequacy studies.
- Demonstrates fluency with captive programs including the projection of A and B Fund values. Must be able to project equity values and needed collateral.
- Guides the marketing, service and retention of larger, complex accounts with the goal of decreasing producer involvement allowing producers to focus on sales activity.
- Evaluates and determines regional and/or company resources needed to support clients and prospects (claims, risk control, ExecPro, etc.).
- Follows up regularly with producers as needed to discuss status of new business, upcoming renewals and renewals in process, and to determine appropriate action.
- Pursues all opportunities to cross sell, round out accounts, and produce new business revenue.
- Performs and monitors client profitability analysis; oversees development of coverage analysis and risk management recommendations.
- Reviews audited financial data to determine viability for collateral.
- Performs contract review for clients, making note of insurance requirements for compliance, working through any issues that arise with client.
- Serves as a mentor and technical resource to team members and assists client service teams with development of coverage and technical knowledge.
- Handles and manages accounts effectively on an ongoing basis, performing essential functions related to role.
- Performs all activities relating to the public, customers and companies to avoid issues involving potential errors and omissions.
- Participates in seminars and other training to maintain required licenses and for knowledge, skill and leadership development, including E & O Seminars. Stays current on trends, coverage, and risk management practices.
- Interacts with high level clientele and members of the organization in a positive professional manner.
- Performs other duties and responsibilities, as required or assigned.
Qualifications
- Effective oral and written communication and relationship building skills
- Strong sales aptitude and ability to collaborate with producers, account teams, clients and carriers.
- High sense of urgency and strong interpersonal skills
- Thorough knowledge of risk management and insurance principles, along with property & casualty/business insurance markets.
- Must demonstrate strong problem solving skills and working knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent experience, in business or related field.
- Minimum ten (10) years’ experience in an insurance agency or brokerage environment
- P & C Insurance License or ability to obtain within 90 days.
- Completed CPCU, CIC, ARM, and/or AU designation or ability to demonstrate equivalent knowledge and ability.
- Experience with Renewable Energy, Manufacturing, Construction, Distribution, & Social Services is highly desired.
- Must have valid transportation.
- Legal work authorization to work in the U.S. on a permanent and ongoing basis without the need for sponsorship now or in the future.
