I'm Craig Morris, and I lead Global Accounts globally for Emerson’s Appleton Group business unit. As a Strategic Account Manager, you'll serve as a key member of our global accounts team, supporting our efforts in building long term relationships with strategic end users, engineering firms and contractors.

You’ll have a defined multi-state region. This role can be located in the Kansas City area. Travel is required up to 50% annually, mostly within your region.

AS A STRATEGIC ACCOUNT MANAGER, YOU WILL:

• Create and complete strategic business plans to maximize sales growth
• Establish product specifications and close orders at assigned accounts
• Submit verbal and written reports covering territory reviews and evaluations
• Conduct product training
• Implement company sales and marketing programs
• Actively pursue professional sales development and technical proficiencies
• Collaborate across cross functional teams and Emerson Business units

WHO YOU ARE:

• Understanding interpersonal and group dynamics and reacting in an effective manner.
• Readily distinguishing between what’s relevant and what’s unimportant to make sense of complex situations.
• Remaining energized and effective when faced with ambiguity and uncertainty.
• Knowing the most effective and efficient processes to get things done, with a focus on continuous improvement.

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:

• A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education in either Business, Marketing or Sales
• 10+ years’ sales related industry experience
• Strong communication, collaboration and presentation skills
• Willingness and ability to travel up to 50% annually, mostly within your region.

PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:

• Sales and technical expertise with Global Hazardous Location Electrical products and Global certification standards
• Multilingual skills
• Experience in heavy process industry engineering and construction practices
