Full description of the position

Position Summary:

This newly created Sales Specialist role will hold responsibility for growing and developing the “Maurice” and MFI systems product offering business across France. Maurice and MFI Systems are Bio-Techne’s innovative Biologics Research, Development and Manufacturing QC systems. These are focussed on BioPharmaceutical companies, as well as the Cell & Gene Therapy Sector.

This is a field-based sales position responsible for a territory comprising France. The ideal candidate will have capital equipment sales experience, a life science background and live in-territory.

In this critical specialised sales and business development position you will be expected to maintain an extremely high level of customer engagement and demonstrate strong market knowledge in order to develop strategies in partnership with your line manager and product managers with the purpose of increasing annual revenue aligned to the company’s strategic plan.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for sales of Bio-Techne’s Biologics Instruments, consumables and service contracts
  • Planning regular travel to customer accounts in territory
  • Effective follow up of sales leads
  • Efficient management of the sales pipeline
  • Prompt closure of instrument system, and consumable sales opportunities
  • Other duties will involve working closely with colleagues in other Bio-Techne sales teams, reporting back on on-going market conditions and occasionally supporting marketing at key exhibitions and conferences

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in capital equipment sales to pharma, biotech and academic customers.
  • Bachelor level degree in a relevant scientific discipline or equivalent scientific experience. A research background with higher degree (MSc or PhD) is an advantage.
  • General business skills such as negotiation, strong organizational skills, problem solving and fact-based decision making. Demonstrable experience in addressing the Pharmaceutical and Biotech market in this region will be an advantage.
  • Highly motivated with demonstrative interpersonal, presentation & organizational skills. Energetic, enthusiastic and hungry for success
  • Good technical laboratory skills as customer demonstrations are part of the role
  • Proficient in English and French, with demonstrably excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal interaction skills and demonstrable ability to work collaboratively at all levels within the Bio-Techne organisation.
  • Strong customer relationship skills. Skilled in anticipating and resolving issues
  • Proficient in the use of computer applications and software. Familiarity with MS Office and SalesForce.com CRM system advantageous.
