Sales Manager

Job Overview

The Sales Manager is responsible for selling and servicing events. Primary sales efforts are in Banquet Food and Beverage and includes menu planning, agenda setting and hotel meeting services. Duties also include contract review and facilitating communication before, during and post event with pertinent hotel staff to ensure a high level of service.

The Sales Manager also host hotel tours, maintain strong customer relationships, participate and may lead event meetings and other staff meetings, and work as a team member with the sales and events staff. The manager also works closely with operations team and other support staff.

Essential Functions

· Meet with clients to work out the details of their functions

· Escort clients through the property and highlight features of facility as well as available services

· Meet & greet clients on event dates and supervise as needed

· Entertain prospective clients and give tours of event space, outlets and guest rooms

· Keep updated on current sales trends within the market and the competitive set

· Work with F&B Director and Banquet Manager to establish policy standards, procedures, operational guidelines & service manual

Qualifications

· Prefer two years hotel experience or completed Event or Catering Management trainee program

· A true desire to satisfy the needs of others in a fast-paced environment

· Refined verbal and written communication skills

· Must be proficient in general computer knowledge

· Candidates should be extremely detail oriented and organized

· Prior experience prospecting and networking to gain new business is preferred

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $50,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year

Supplemental pay types:

• Charlottesville, VA 22903: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Preferred)

Experience:

• Hotel Sales: 1 year (Preferred)
