How will you make an impact?

The Sr. Biosciences Account Manager is an inside sales position requiring an advanced level of technical proficiency and multiple years of direct life science sales experience. The candidate should be able to understand and articulate product features, benefits and applications along with selling & drive business at assigned major customer call points. In addition to establishing relationships with customers and managing an account base, the successful candidate will also take on leadership roles within the Inside Sales organization.

What will you do?

PLAN PERFORMANCE & SALES SKILLS: Consistently achieve or exceed the territory sales plan & demonstrate use of strategic selling skills remotely & in person to penetrate & grow current & new business.

ACCOUNT MANAGEMENT & COMMUNICATION: Develop, write, and implement a business plan for assigned territory annually, updated quarterly.

Regularly develop & lead customer facing meetings, events, presentations & customer proposals with assistance of support teams.

Use data sources to analyze & capitalize on territory opportunities with the greatest value. Leverage Thermo Fisher’s customer relations management (CRM) system & other tools for prospecting, funnel management & to maintain and increase current customer database.

Communicate key activities, trends, & changing customer dynamics as well as account objectives and action to management regularly.

SALES TRAINING: Participate in programs as presented by the company to develop appropriate selling skills consistent with the Thermo Fisher philosophy, policies & procedures. Overnight travel may be required for these trainings & meetings.

PRODUCT KNOWLEDGE & TECHNICAL COMPREHENSION: Understand & use product features, benefits and applications to craft a value proposition & provide comprehensive solutions to our customers.

LEADERSHIP: Participate in the Inside Sales interviewing, hiring and training processes. Act as a back-up for forecast consolidation & quote approvals when District Manager is out of the office & exhibit role model leadership behaviors amongst peers.

How will you get here?

Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Biology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry or related field. Master's degree a plus.

Experience

  • Molecular or Cell Biology wet lab experience preferred
  • 2+ years of sales experience in the life sciences industry
  • Digital skills in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, or like programs required

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Must possess strong interpersonal, verbal & written communication & presentation skills.
  • Able to work with ease both independently and collaboratively.
  • Demonstrate a positive demeanor & desire to succeed with a consistent track record of establishing goals and achieving results
  • Must possess the organizational skills to multi-task & work in a highly matrixed environment.
  • Exhibit a high degree of flexibility to adapt & embrace charge.
  • Graceful & thoughtful under pressure & works with a sense of urgency

The hourly range estimated for this position is $33.00 - $43.00 per hour. This position will also be eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and/or individual performance results in accordance with company policy. Actual compensation will be confirmed in writing at the time of offer.
