Title of Position: Commercial Specifications Manager - Hardscapes
Reports To: AVP of Sales - Hardscapes
Job Location: Cincinnati, Dayton, Louisville, Lexington, Indianapolis

Purpose of the Position
The Commercial Specifications Manager will gain market share through the development of commercial specifications and designs of Reading Rock material with industry design professionals.

How You Will Make an Impact

  • Create project opportunities through specifications and/or designs with industry leading influencers for Reading Rock material within assigned region (Cincinnati, Dayton, Lexington, Louisville, Indiana)
  • Project Management: Work in a team-based model with local sales team members to ensure customer satisfaction from lead through order fulfilment.
  • Provide one-on-one and group presentations to various audiences
  • Industry Awareness: Stay abreast of industry trends and competition via networking, associations, publications, seminars, etc. to improve market relevance and success.
  • New Client Acquisition: Identify and procure new business opportunities within assigned region by managing job search engines such as Construct Connect, reviewing plan sets, working with local sales team members, lead follow up, networking events, etc.
  • Existing Client Retention and Development: Become the trusted advisor for specific needs of all customers through education and support
  • Continuous Improvement: Participate in technical and business training seminars, online training, and supplier events for professional development.
  • Other position-related duties as needed & assigned.

What is Needed for the Position

Education: High School Diploma required; College Degree preferred

Experience: 5 + years of sales and/or specification of material in the building material industry, specifically the hardscapes industry is preferred

Language: Basic ability to communicate, both verbally and in writing, using the English language.

Technology: MS Office, MS Word, MS Excel

Physical Demands: The employee is to lift to 80 lbs. occasionally, stand for prolonged periods at industry events, drive a vehicle (up to 75% in Cincinnati, Dayton, Indiana, Louisville, and Lexington), amongst others.
