Full description of the position

Our current BDL in Chattanooga will be going on maternity leave this summer & returning in a more part time capacity, so we are looking for a strong replacement to train and become acclimated before her departure.

BDLs are the head of our store teams and work within our upper leadership team to drive store success. This role is perfect for a strong, driven, and experienced leader with exceptional people skills. The primary responsibility of a BDL is to build, grow, and mentor the store team using our extensive training, systems, and company values. They should embody our company culture and display a passion for exemplary service as well as building the team around them. BDLs oversee all store operations and departments and report to our Operations Director and Sales & Service Director. Responsibilities include: training & coaching of store team members, bi-weekly payroll preparation, ensuring excellence in store appearance, cleaning, and merchandising, overseeing special orders and software account maintenance, and active participation in company leadership team.

This position was formerly called Store Manager. However, we felt it important to differentiate between traditional retail management and what leading a Grayce store looks like, as the two are completely different roles. Our full time teams work 5 days per week from 9-5. While most Sundays are required (as they are our busiest day), our stores are closed every Saturday. Aside from an occasional event or monthly staff meeting, we do not work or open our stores outside of those hours because of our dedication to strong family life and balance. In addition to the difference in hours, our stores focus on providing a level of service that requires dedication to training and development. Our leaders operate much like small business owners, only with the guidance, support, and backing of our thorough training, systems, and leadership support. Commission on total store volume is part of all BDL compensation because of our desire for our leaders to think like small business owners and be able to directly experience the fruits of their success.

Experience leading teams of more than 5 people is required. A love for fashion and style is key. High School Diploma required. Additional education may be helpful, but not required. The qualified applicant must possess a strong small business mindset and be able to lead independently and proactively. Experience driving sales, managing expenses/cashflow, and producing value-led results through a strong team effort is preferred. A dedication to personal development and growth is also key to long term success in the company and absolutely integral to effectiveness in this role.
