Summary:
The Vice President of Business Development is a sales role and will be responsible for all aspects of sales/selling processes and partnership relationships within the assigned region. The successful candidate will support the department in achieving its annual business objectives and lead strategic initiatives. The VP will drive the region’s growth through elevated engagement and advocacy efforts achieved through proactive planning and activity, effective information management and dedicated interactions. This individual will act in the best interest of the company and meet corporate, departmental and business objectives. This role is based on Salary and Commission.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Research and generate new customer leads in specific geographic regions
- Develop new business through both current customers and new opportunities
- Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with customers
- Coordinate and present responses to Requests for Pricing (RFP’s)
- Demonstrate attention to detail, excellent follow-up, and follow-through skills
- Develop and maintain a strong working relationship with key departments within Lazer Spot
- Identify customer needs and address concerns, adding value through reliable responsiveness
- Establish credibility by demonstrating comprehensive understanding of customer needs and strategically applying our solutions
- Complete adequate and proper research prior to presenting proposal to our customers
- Demonstrate knowledge of the fundamentals of the Supply Chain industry, including familiarity with warehousing, distribution, retail and manufacturing trends
- Basic understanding of YMS (Yard Management Systems), WMS (Warehouse Management Systems) & TMS (Transportation Management Systems)
- Travel regularly, using prospecting skills to deliver new business and to maintain/develop existing customer relationships
- Ability to multi-task and handle multiple priorities in a challenging environment
- Work proactively to ensure customers remain within contract terms
- Utilize strong persuasive skills to educate the customer on our Value Proposition
- Other duties as required to ensure that the sales goals & company objectives are met
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Business or Management OR 5 + years of experience as a Business Development Manager or similar role.
- Experience in Supply Chain, Warehouse, Transportation industry a plus
- Strong understanding of today’s supply chain and how it fits into our customers’ needs and operations
- Excellent oral and written communications skills, proficiency at formal and informal presentations
- Demonstrated ability to build a book of business through consultative selling
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Success at staying motivated while working independently
- Strong negotiation skills, incorporating the ability to communicate a value proposition that is not price-driven, but based on service and solving customer problems
- Adaptability and Resiliency
- Proven ability to work within a team, including multiple functions within our organization (Operations, Fleet, Finance, Solutions and others)

Pay: $90,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
