Job Title

Product Innovation Liaison

Reports To

Director of Client Services

GENERAL PURPOSE: The Product Innovation Liaison is responsible for planning, formulating, and executing a portfolio of innovative dietary supplements that accelerate ION Labs’ growth. Working directly with Sales and R&D, the Product Innovation Liaison will utilize relevant market data and their own scientific background to create innovative product concepts to present to our customers and prospects.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

• Bring innovative and differentiated supplements from concept to market that support our core customers’ goals and meet ION Labs’ commitments to quality and safety.
• Identify novel and emerging ingredients and formats for product formulas and drive awareness on new product launches and emerging trends in dietary supplements.
• Gather, maintain, and distribute market trend data relevant to Ion’s capabilities
• Maintain strategic internal and external partnerships to assess feasibility, risk and costs of new product development
• Provide feedback on samples submissions and ensure formulations are high quality, efficacious, and cost effective
• Develop project timelines and coordinate across suppliers to maintain on-time delivery of critical milestones
• Develop costing and collaborate with stakeholders to recommend product pricing
• Manage reformulation of existing products to ensure products continue to be differentiated and up-to-date with emerging scientific literature
• Build deep expertise in gummy vitamins and related products and keep up to date with new innovations in nutraceuticals
• Research, identify, and formulate product from start to finish

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education/ Experience

· Bachelor’s Degree and equivalent work experience in Science (e.g. Biology, Chemical Engineering, etc), Food Science, Pharmaceutical Science or related field

· 2-4 years of experience working in sales, product development, R&D, manufacturing, and/or regulatory affairs within the functional foods and/or supplements industry

· Expertise in research, project management, and managing strong relationships with suppliers
