Full description of the position

POSITION SUMMARY

This position is 100% REMOTE.

The Senior Manager Business Development position executes strategic plans to manage, develop and create opportunities with existing customers as well as identify and successfully onboard new customers within the assigned territory and assigned railroads. The position supports the evaluation, cultivation, and execution of new business opportunities and delivers insightful analyses to the Sr VP Sales, individual railroad General Managers and the Sr. VP of Marketing. The position will require regular reporting to senior leaders of activities, performance and progress related to both existing customers and potential customers.

The Senior Manager of New Business Development demonstrates and adheres to the Company values of safety, honesty, ownership, respect, and teamwork to ensure successful partnership with customers and employees that result in OmniTRAX’s continued success.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Promote and present all OmniTRAX products and services: increase product and account penetration with existing and new customers in the assigned regions
  • Partner with senior leadership and operations to ensure revenue growth and maximize customer satisfaction
  • Act as lead and support the Accounting team on timely revenue collection
  • Work closely with Sr VP Sales on strategic initiatives for customer growth and retention in the assigned regions
  • Monitor car storage and storage in-transit developments in the assigned regions
  • Create annual railroad carload and revenue budget: update throughout the year as part of revenue and carload forecasting function
  • Maintain a network of relationships across the railroad industry, leverage relationships in opportunity identification and transaction execution
  • Develop a 360-degree view of customer business and contacts and maintain the data within CRM system to ensure questions, concerns and inquiries get to the appropriate personnel as efficiently as possible
  • Demonstrate professionalism and enthusiasm in servicing the OmniTRAX customer portfolio

  • Routinely monitor and revise account profiles for the assigned regions
  • Work flexible hours to meet customer and business needs
  • Perform other duties and projects as assigned

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • Bachelor’s Degree in business or related field
  • Minimum 8 years’ business development experience within the transportation industry
  • Excellent project and time management skills; prioritize multiple tasks: work efficiently under tight time constraints to meet deadlines
  • Strong interpersonal skills: quickly establish rapport and create atmosphere of trust in all relationships
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; effectively converse with all levels of the company, customers, business associates
  • Strong business and financial acumen
  • Proposal development and pricing/costing experience
  • Leverage analytics, data, and insights to drive decision-making and action
  • Strong presentation skills and presence
  • Professional integrity and accountability
  • Work in fast-paced collaborative environment
  • Self-motivated; driven to exceed department and company objectives
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite with emphasis on PowerPoint and Excel

REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS AND LICENSES

  • Valid Driver’s License

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • Previous experience in Rail Transportation, Supply Chain Logistics, Manufacturing and/or Oil and Gas industries
  • MBA
