Full description of the position

Summary:
*The candidate for this role must live in the one of the states in this District (East coast/Southeast)*

The District Manager, Medical Sales will lead all sales initiatives for the women's health sales channel within their designated District. The primary responsibility of this position is to oversee the sales activities needed to grow a new channel of business for Metagenics’ speaclity women's health sales. Targets for this channel will be new recommendation-based medical offices. These channels may include but may not be limited to primary care, Obstetrics and Gynecologists, and Urologists.

The District Sales Manager (DSM) is responsible for hiring, training, developing, motivating and field managing the sales force within a designated sales district so as to make or exceed the monthly, quarterly and annual sales goals in harmony with the corporate objectives.

Additionally, the DSM is responsible for analyzing the performance of every sales reprepresentative and territory to assure that all customers in each territory are receiving great customer service and growing according to the sales plan. If deficiencies in sales representative performance are discovered the DSM must institute a program to help the rep improve and if the rep does not respond and improve the DSM must take disciplinary action including termination if necessary.

  • Identify and implement new tactics based on the needs of the channel to grow the designated territories within the District
  • Coach the sales representatives on effective sales strategies in a variety of medical specialties and a variety of Metagenics products
  • Conduct regular and frequent co-travel days with all sales representatives
  • Collaborate with internal teams in order to create effective programs and support for sales
  • Partner with other departments and company representatives in arranging speaker events, and act as a liaison with Medical Affairs to assist with executing against account strategies and tactics
  • Build long term relationships with key customer(s) through honest, ethical behavior that is
  • consistent with company values
  • Document sales effectiveness of each sales representative during ride-along using the Metagenics standard sales process ( Professional Selling Skills)
  • Attend company sponsored sales meetings and seminars as needed
  • Assist the sales representatives in working at the booth trade show and educational meetings as needed
  • Continuously lead the activities of the team to learn relevant information regarding different medical specialties and share critical information with team members and the executive team
  • Adhere to and ensure that the sales team adheres to all policies regarding expense reports and documentation required of the sales team (such as documentation of sales calls, etc.)

What you'll need:
  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • A minimum of 4 years of experience in an outside sales role
  • Prior experience in a management role strongly preferred
  • Demonstrated success in previous outside sales role
  • Experience working with functional medicine practitioners strongly preferred

Physical requirements/working conditions:

  • Sits at a computer station, meeting table or work desk for more than two-thirds of each day
  • Stands and walks to other stations and departments throughout the day
  • Uses hands and fingers to operate computers and office equipment most of the day
  • May stoop or crouch to access files or storage
  • Requires clear vision at 20 inches or less with or without corrective lenses
  • Hearing and speech within normal ranges and sufficient for clear communication face to face and especially via the telephone
  • Lifts up to 10 pounds regularly; lifts 25 pounds occasionally
  • Exposed to noise levels typical of office environments

Compensation:

The current range for this role based out of MA, CT, NH, VT is $115k/yr - $130k/yr.


This role will be eligible to participate in a sales incentive plan, subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors, including, without limitation, individual performance.


The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs.
