Summary: Responsible for sales initiatives by developing and securing new business and maintaining existing business. Oversees all design, development, and communication of planning activities that ensure market competitiveness and organizational excellence.

Education and/or Experience:

Requires a bachelor’s degree in related field, 3-5 years of sales and strategic management experience in a manufacturing environment, or a combination of education and experience. Previous experience in the metals industry preferred.

Nature & Scope-Principal Areas of Responsibilities:

• Develop new markets and clients.
• Research and understand competitive landscape within markets, regions, and clients.
• Establish strategic plans to achieve sales objectives for products and services; monitor and analyze sales against goals.
• Provide leadership, direction, and coordination for sales and customer service activities.
• Assist in developing business strategy and budgets with the management team.
• Serve all assigned customers, and act as a customer liaison, including the regular use of discretionary power; report all customer concerns to appropriate personnel.
• Review open order status and requests for quotes, and monitor rejections.
• Establish and maintain relationships with industry influencers, key accounts, and strategic partners.
• Establish and maintain a consistent corporate image throughout all product lines, promotional materials, and events.
• Support cross-functional teams that focus on managing our customers.
• Complete continuous improvement projects for the department and company as needed.
• Follow and comply with all safety regulations, work rules, and maintain clean and orderly work areas.

• Possesses excellent written and verbal communication skills and strong negotiation skills.
• Ability to resolve customer complaints in a one-call resolution.
• Ability to pay close attention to detail.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
• Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables and standardized situations.
• Strong knowledge of Wisconsin Steel and Tube capabilities and core competencies.

The position is an office-based position with visits to work sites in the field. The colleague regularly performs work-related travel.
