About the Job - Sales Engineer/Estimator
Our organization is looking for a results-driven Sales Engineer/Estimator. As a key member of the Pindel Global Precision sales engineering/estimating team, you are responsible for assisting/leading the development of quotes to customers and, when Pindel is awarded the contract, transitioning the new-part opportunity thru the engineering review and New Part Introduction launch process. This role will report to the Director of Sales. Compensation will be hourly.
Requirements:Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
Prepare quotations and proposals in response to customer RFQs
- Perform Technical reviews with customers; Collaborate with customers, engineers, and other staff to understand the parts being developed
- Analyze RFQ documents (e.g., custom part prints, specifications, etc.) and perform technical review of customer specifications
- Work with Raw material and outside service vendors to obtain quotations; analyze their pricing and proposals
- Interpret drawings to determine manufacturing feasibility, gather insights from team, investigate and recommend processing steps and generate quotations.
- Work with manufacturing to calculate manufacturing run times.
- Understand and incorporate insight into customer dynamics and willingness to pay
- Meet all RFQ deadlines.
- As appropriate, discusses solution recommendations with Outside Sales, Engineering, and customer in order to provide best solutions for customer
- Assist in developing and deepening customer and outside sales force relationships
- Correspond with customers and representatives on pricing, availability of product, and quotes as directed by management
- Support Sales to perform margin analysis on existing products.
- Liaison with current customers, potential customers, and Account Reps.
- Provides project management leadership for new product introductions.
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Job Requirements:
- U.S. Citizen
- Ability to attain proficiency in commercial estimating software (Paperless Parts) to process quote requests in a timely manner
- Ability to thoroughly inspect client blueprints, samples, and/or specifications to accurately identify part requirements and prepare for quotes
- Strong technical knowledge and proven experience in a metal machining environment
- Exemplary research, analytical, and business problem-solving skills

- Experience in a machining environment
- Strong communication skills to function effectively with Vendors, co-workers, and customers.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and organizational skills, with a strong attention to detail
- Strong verbal and written communication skills and presentation skills; Ability to read, write and understand English
- Strong negotiation skills Ability to calculate figures
- Ability to read blue prints
- Ability to interpret all specifications
- Ability to multi task and stay focused on projects; Ability to stay on task with minimal supervision
- Proficiency in MS Word, Excel and Outlook
- Demonstrated ability to communicate, present and influence credibly and effectively at all levels of the organization
