A Drayage Specialist Carrier Sales Representative will be responsible for developing and managing a carrier portfolio to drive sales and revenue for drayage opportunities and other domestic transportation. Must provide outstanding customer service for all Fairmont customers.

Responsibilities

• The ability to productively work remote.
• Develop and maintain working relationships with quality carrier partners to provide the best equipment at the best rates.
• Make customer service the top priority by providing the highest level of service possible.
• Track all booked loads from the point the carrier is contracted through final delivery of the load.
• Negotiate rates with transportation providers at the best possible rate while maintaining the highest level of customer service.
• Prospect carriers to further develop the carrier portfolio.
• Review carrier credentials to ensure they meet Fairmont’s compliance requirements.
• Serve as a mentor to other Carrier Sales Representatives.
• Collaborate internally to develop new opportunities and grow current business.
• Advise and make recommendations of available capacity to fulfill customer’s needs and requirements.
• Research and analyze truckload market trends.
• Afterhours, weekend, and holiday flexibility (we operate 24/7/365).
• Perform other special projects and tasks as assigned.
• Remote weekend tracking may be required. Pays OT

Qualifications:

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability to develop relationships internally and externally.
• Ability to think strategically and develop long-term plans for personal book of business.
• Strong organizational skills with a high attention to detail and ability to multi-task.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Enthusiastic, assertive, driven, and adaptable.
• Willing to operate with a TEAM oriented mindset.
• Ability to work in fast pace environment

Experience and Benefits:

• 3+ years’ experience in Carrier Sales.
• Domestic and cross border 3PL experience
• FTL/LTL experience (dry van, reefer, flatbed, straight truck, Drayage ).
• Cross border experiance is a plus
• Drayage experience Preferred.
• Existing relationships with local, regional and national carriers is a plus
• Existing relationships with shippers and manufacturers is a plus
• This position offers a competitive base salary + commission plan.

• After 90 day probation period, possible 1 day working remote per week.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $50,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
