Full description of the position

Prime Hospitality Investment & Management Group, located in Ringgold, GA, is now seeking an accomplished Area Business Transient Sales Manager based in Louisville, KY to join our dynamic team.

The Area Business Transient Sales Manager is responsible for creating new business opportunities that will allow the hotel to achieve budgeted room revenue for specific market segments, specifically securing new volume accounts while growing existing ones. This position must have a strong grasp of market and industry trends and utilize this knowledge in strategic planning. The Business Transient Sales Manager should have strong networking skills and/or join related conferences that will extend the reach of the business.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of five years of progressive sales experience, in the hospitality field. Relative franchise experience a plus. We are seeking a detail-oriented, professional individual with excellent sales techniques who will meet or exceed budgeted goals in accordance with the standards of PHMI Group and IHG.

  • Minimum of five years of relative experience, preferably in both sales and catering.
  • Relative franchise experience a plus.
  • Proven background in sales.
  • Ability to uncover and capture new business.
  • Capacity to manage various projects and meet deadlines.
  • Solicit, negotiate and generate contracted revenues from volume prospects that meet criteria established in the hotel business plan.
  • Be a lead generator to property to support the sales process and development of new business opportunities.
  • Represent PHMI Group at all times, in a hospitable and professional manner, to our clients/guests and business partners.
  • Assure that all actions and transactions are handled in a legal, ethical manner.
  • Monitor, measure and provide direction on all accounts.
  • Provide ongoing property updates, both verbally and written, to the Vice President of Sales and Marketing as directed on an ongoing basis.
  • Works directly with IHG/Marriott to ensure that all company and brand standards and programs are being properly utilized.
  • Empowered to guarantee total guest satisfaction, display hospitality and professionalism to our guests at all times, take pride in representing PHMI Group professionally with our guests and assuring that all transactions with guests are handled in a legal and ethical manner.
  • Maintains efficient reporting through use of current Monthly Sales Templates, Customer Contact Expectations, and Action Plan follow up. Additional reports may be introduced, and existing reports are subject to change.
  • Actively participate in budgeting, forecasting and managing expenses to achieve company expectations.
  • Performs Sales Audits to ensure information accuracy in property management systems, sales and catering software systems and general reporting.
  • Meets and exceeds customer expectations by ensuring excellent customer service and teamwork.
  • Provide extensive sales support to property General Managers, & Directors of Sales recognized by PHMI Group as the property sales leader.
  • Maintains proper flow of information within the region to Corporate office.
  • Participates in yield management meetings.
  • Focused in increasing sales volume and profitability by developing and executing projects for all market segments as stated in the hotel business plan.
  • Develops plans, special sales activities, and promotions, monitors Return on Investment of all sales and marketing action plans and promotions.
  • Ensures that property has maximized use of all company, brand and local CVB programs.
  • Conducts market analysis to determine client needs, occupancy potential, rates desired, etc. for hotel.
  • Participates in solving problems with other department as required related to business booked in the hotel including space conflicts, threatened cancellations, and compromises between customer needs and hotel facilities.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $45,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
