Full description of the position
Major Duties
PRODUCT INNOVATION & DEVELOPMENT
- Assists in managing all phases of formula development and new product innovation in the specified color cosmetics category
- Responsible for logging, tracking, and maintaining formula submissions
- Assists in managing timelines on formula, shade matching, and claims testing
- Communicates formula and shade direction to lab
- Communicates package direction and feedback to packaging team
- Maintains all necessary project documentation files
COMPETITIVE ANALYSIS
- Tracks competitive launches, purchases product, and maintains organization of competitive library
- Assists in creating & presenting competitive analysis decks
TREND ANALYSIS
- Researches & analyzes relevant trends; presents findings on a regular basis to PD team & Cross functional partners
- Assists in creating & presenting trend decks
MARKET EXECUTION SUPPORT
- Coordinates product sample requests for comps, retailers, shoots, local markets, PR, etc.
- Helps create and swatch campaign beauty looks
- Assists on beauty and product retouching as needed, and communicating feedback to Creative
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Maintains team supplies and orders supplies as necessary
- Compiles & distributes meeting agendas and post-meeting notes
- Prepares meeting materials in advance, including product sample trays
- Assists team in organizing vendor samples
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED
- Bachelors Required
- Minimum years of experience required: Entry Level - 2 years
- Computer skills (powerpoint, excel and word)
- Research skills (ability to navigate web, magazines, trend books/resources etc. to extrapolate valuable information)
- Highly detail-oriented
- Ability to collaborate with cross-functional partners
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities
- Knowledge of color theory and ability to see nuances in color
- Passion for the cosmetics business a must

The base pay range for this position in New York City is $50,000 and $60,000/year; however base pay offered may vary depending on skills, experience, job-related knowledge and location. Certain positions may also be eligible for short and/or long-term incentives as part of total compensation.
