Core competencies required to perform the duties of an Emergency Response Coordinator include leadership, communication, interpersonal and customer service skills. ERCs are responsible for customer service. They represent the franchise, the Paul Davis brand and give it a face. They have the ability to turn an emotionally distraught customer into a satisfied one and save a sale when it is in jeopardy and/or leave the customer with a positive lasting impression. The ERCs primary responsibilities are to be consistently friendly, compassionate, courteous, positive and informative. Effective ERCs must also possess knowledge of restoration products and services. They are dynamic speakers and comfortable when interacting in both one-on-one and group settings, and interacting with different levels of management and outside agencies. Stress tolerance, the ability to work under pressure and a combination of leadership and customer-facing skills are necessary for job effectiveness.
