Waters is seeking a dynamic contributor to fill the role of Sr. Mass Spectrometry Sales Development Specialist. This person will have the exciting opportunity to drive the sales of our mass spectrometry products and services covering the Midwest District. Ideally the candidate will live either in the greater Madison, WI, St. Louis, MO, Chicago, IL, Cedar Rapids, Iowa or Iowa City..
The desired candidate should be highly self-motivated to develop and implement a territorial business plan, while working in unison with their assigned specialists and marketing colleagues in order to deliver a strong call cycle and business development activities. Responsibilities will include delivering technical presentations, coordinating demonstrations, and meeting with clients to driving sales of our Mass Spectrometry products, including tandem quads, QToF, imaging, and ion mobility MS systems into a wide variety of markets, including life science, pharmaceutical, food and environmental, and chemical materials. The foundation of the Sr Mass Spectrometry Sales Specialist role is to develop a keen understanding of the customers' needs to design solutions with lasting and meaningful impact.
Responsibilities:
- Meet or exceed sales targets
- Maintain installed-base customer satisfaction
- Aggressively develop new sales prospects and penetrate competitive accounts
- Visit customers daily to highlight Waters solutions and help customers with any technical obstacles in their way
- Build technical competency on Waters solution and to be perceived by customers as a credible resource
- Maintain current knowledge on vertical markets dynamics, application trends, and other critical business information
- Provide information to marketing team to create business development programs
- Fully utilize our Sales Contact Management tools and applications
- Submit accurate and timely monthly sales forecasts
- Develop business through monthly plan of action
Education
- Bachelors Degree, Masters, or PhD in scientific area such as chemistry, biology, or biochemistry
Experience
- 5+ years mass spectrometry experience including high resolution mass spectrometry experience (QTOF or Orbitrap)
- UPLC, Mass Spec, field sales and/or marketing is a plus
- Overnight travel as required
