Full description of the position

Covenant Physician Partners (CPP) is actively seeking a Business Development Sales Director who will support and drive the sourcing strategy for his/her assigned regions across all CPP service lines and offerings.

Please note: This position requires experience in business development in the healthcare space, specifically BD with ASCs, hospital outsourcing, or medical device sales.

This is a remote position - not based in Nashville.

About the Opportunity

Compensation for this position will be a generous base + performance-based bonus.

This position will require extensive travel throughout the western US.

The Business Development Sales Director will spend time on sales and recruitment of physicians, around active engagement into existing/new CPP ambulatory surgery centers (ASCs) and conduct deal sourcing for acquisitions and JV/partnerships alongside the operations and business development functions of the company.

Responsibilities:

  • Work with the Regional and center operations team to develop a clear strategic plan to prioritize physicians and to enable and determine optimal case mix and capacity maximization.
  • Strategically define targets for recruitment planning in coordination with center operations, physician leadership and recruitment team
  • In partnership with the operations team, determine value proposition for the center based on position in the local market and type of physician pursued
  • Leverage existing network within the healthcare community to gain access to the most productive and aligned physicians with CPP’s model, whether established or new a particular area
  • Partner with operations leadership, clinical staff and existing physicians to establish physician funnel, maintain relationship and successfully recruit targeted physicians
  • Oversee credentialing and on-boarding process, alongside service center, of new physicians through their initial cases for seamless transition
  • Leverage relationships and business data/analytics to develop pipeline of (i) potential ASC and physician group targets for mergers, acquisitions or joint venture/partnerships and (ii) physician relationships, alongside the Business Development team
  • Establish best-in-class sales and marketing practices across the region and markets
  • Own established sales targets to deliver results on consistent basis
  • Report progress and findings at management, physician partnership, and select board meetings

About the Candidate

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelors degree in a health care, business administration, or related field
  • Five (5) or more years of experience in a sales role working directly with physicians
  • Demonstrated understanding of the ASC business model through direct or indirect experience (i.e. device/medical equipment rep, hospital outsourcing development/strategy, etc.)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Masters degree in a health care, business administration, or related field
