Due to rapid business expansion, we are currently seeking a Business Development Manager/Director. As a Business Development Manager/Director, you will lead customer relationship management efforts and develop new customers for Aquarius Technologies aeration systems and multistage filtration equipment into municipal and industrial wastewater facilities.
Duties include but are not limited to:
- Acquires new accounts and improves under-performing accounts. Specific sales target to be achieved in relation to the existing contracts and prospective customers as part of sales growth.
- Call on end-use customers, engineering firms and OEMs who specify / purchase our equipment and effectively influence their purchasing specifications to include Aquarius’ aeration systems.
- Productively support and manage our Representative (Rep) channel to market and build strong relationships within each Rep.
- Develop new customers within the market/region. Develop and find new applications for Aquarius’ aeration systems.
- Effectively manage relationship with key customer accounts, understand the landscape within each key account, the decisions makers and how and when decisions are made.
- Provide support to customers, OEM's, and engineering firms as needed and as applicable: equipment selection, review of specifications, compliance with standards, total cost of ownership assessments, etc.
- Develop commercial strategies for proposals and bid submittals and coordinates support as required for pre-bid meetings and follow up.
- Prepare and deliver professional presentations and coordinate customer education efforts as required.
- Deliver sales projections, forecasts, strategies, reports as required utilizing CRM system as applicable.
- Assist in development and implementation of marketing plans as required and support preparations for regional and national trade shows. Attend and work the show as needed.
- Support order processing efforts and effectively support customer follow-up activities throughout the order execution process.
- Work closely with the After Sales team (parts, repair and service) to ensure high customer satisfaction levels throughout the life cycle of Aquarius’ aeration systems.
- Interacts professionally with Aerzen project management, engineering, production, and customer support personnel to provide knowledge regarding specific customers and orders.
A. Education: A Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering; will consider the equivalent combination of education and experience.
B. Experience: Minimum of 2 to 5 years of wastewater experience
Minimum 5 years of experience in external sales and/or REP management
C. Certification(s):
D. Functional Skills: This position requires an energetic, self-starter who can manage travel and work in remote locations autonomously. Good sales and team management skills and a good command of sales techniques and negotiations are required. Must have a strong sense of urgency to meet Customer commitments in a timely and "above expectations" manner.
E. Technology Aptitude/Skills: Solid MS Office and CRM software skills. Basic ability to create, use and retrieve project related information from ERP systems, scheduling software, etc.
F. Language Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills; able to present well and collaborate with clients in a professional way.
G. Leadership/Behaviors: Strong customer focus; able to handle multiple projects and work outside comfort zone to learn and grow; highly reliable; able to work through conflict. Collaborative, flexible and adaptable to change; supportive of a team. Willing to learn and grow in role.
