F/T or P/T: Full time
Hours of Availability: Required working hours fall between 12noon – 9pm, Monday thru Friday and 4 hrs on a Saturday (9-1 or 10-2) Saturdays are mandatory for the first 6 months before any schedule changes can be made.
Training is for 90 days and consists of being in the office and shadowing people in the field.
Hourly Wage: $50K Salary + Unlimited Commission (most people make upwards of $100K)
Direct/Outside Sales Representative Responsibilities:
- This is a residential, door to door, sales position. This position requires a valid driver’s license, a reliable vehicle and proof of insurance.
- Acquires new residential customers through door-to-door contact from assigned leads.
- Conducts proactive consultative needs analysis with new prospective customers.
- Develops and presents sales presentations/proposals on products and services that meet customers’ needs.
- Accurately completes all necessary paperwork to support sales activities in a manner consistent with quality control guidelines, including but not limited to the following: dispositioning, entering sales orders, and reporting on sales.
- Supports team and team goals by actively participating in all sales meetings and training programs as assigned.
- Achieves monthly sales quotas in high-speed data, mobile, landline phone, and video sales.
- Completes all administrative tasks related to products sold in accordance with department practice, policies, and procedures.
Direct/Outside Sales Representative Qualifications/Experience:
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings
- Valid driver’s license, car insurance, a satisfactory driving record, and use of a reliable personal vehicle
- Motivation to sell door-to-door in residential areas
- Ability to work outdoors in all adverse weather conditions
- Engaging interpersonal skills
- Success in a previous sales position, prospecting, or cold calling; direct sales experience is preferred but not required.
- Knowledge of cable or telecommunications services, with an emphasis on data networking fundamentals and the ability to educate consumers on related products and services as needed
Education: High School Diploma or GED
Work: At least 2 years of sales experience is required (not just cashiering) but the position is more about personality and the ability to communicate effectively and confidently and not be afraid of rejection.
Specific Skills: Great communication skills, thick skin with resilience to be told no but keep on going.
