Our client, a leading provider of healthcare services, is searching for a Sales and Use Tax Manager to join their team in Nashville, TN. This position will be responsible for tax research, planning, external audits and internal tax consulting. It will interact with affiliated businesses, vendors, and other stakeholders regarding the taxability of items, legal entity structures, and tax systems. This position has the opportunity to work a hybrid schedule.

Responsibilities:

• Advise on business license and sales and use tax compliance.
• Assist with data gathering and analysis for the Taxes Incurred Report.
• Manage sales and use tax analysis tests for SOX 404 and ASC450 reserves.
• Assist with taxability determinations related to Vertex O Series, Lawson billing, taxability decision matrices, and the warehouse tax collection solution.
• Manage analytical reporting from various systems: Vertex, Business Objects, MS Access, Excel, and Alteryx. Review results and identify improvement opportunities.
• Manage the work of outside consultants for indirect tax system projects.
• Manage research, planning, and audits related to sales and use taxes.
• Assist with contract review, planning, and vendor negotiations regarding tax language as well as product or service taxability.
• Conduct internal tax training sessions for accountants, attorneys, purchasing personnel, and accounts payable specialists.
• Supervise and train staff.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
• 7-10 years of relevant experience
• 1-3 years of management experience
• Experience in Vertex® Indirect Tax O Series® sales and use tax solutions.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and tax research tools.
• Experience with data visualization applications, ETL tools (i.e. Alteryx), and SAP Business Objects.
• CMI-Sales Tax or CPA preferred.
• Prefer working knowledge of medical products taxability and experience in tax solution implementation and maintenance.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $111,000.00 - $116,000.00 per year
