The Physician Liaison role is a performance-based health care sales positions and is responsible for generating business and meeting targets in assigned territory. Primary referral sources include hospitals, physicians, senior retirement communities, skilled nursing facilities, and the community-at-large. The Physician Liaison identifies opportunities for formal and contractual relationships with physicians, organizations, and payors, as well as executes territory sales plans in coordination with operational and clinical leadership to ensure extraordinary customer service. Demonstrates VNA core values in all aspects of duties.Responsibilities:

The Physician Liaison role is a performance-based health care sales positions and is responsible for generating business and meeting targets in assigned territory. Primary referral sources include hospitals, physicians, senior retirement communities, skilled nursing facilities, and the community-at-large. The Physician Liaison identifies opportunities for formal and contractual relationships with physicians, organizations, and payors, as well as executes territory sales plans in coordination with operational and clinical leadership to ensure extraordinary customer service. Demonstrates VNA core values in all aspects of duties.
- Serving as a liaison between the VNA, physicians, facilities, hospitals and other referral sources in the community.
- Meet or exceed annual admission/start of care goals.
- Thoroughly identifying the needs of referral sources, demonstrating a clear understanding of how referral sources make decisions and identifying decision-makers.
- Improving relationships between referral sources and the VNA.
- Educating physicians, hospitals, skilled nursing and assisted living facilities regarding the regulations of the home health and hospice industry, VNA policies and our scope of service.
- Performing community informational service events.
- Identifying and closing new business opportunities to meet established sales objectives within the assigned territory.
- Maintaining a regular presence in each account within the assigned territory, as needed.
- Ongoing documentation, strategic goal-planning and problem-solving.
- Maintains comprehensive working knowledge of the VNA’s program and services and provides ongoing education to referral sources and the community.
- Maintains a high standard of customer service at all times, with particular focus on responsiveness and facilitating solutions.
- Work with physician, discharge planners, case managers, and other facility staff to obtain required information, requested signatures, explaining documents and facilitating patient care communications.
- Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university required
- Three years health care related sales experience with proven track record of success preferred
- Professional licensure as RN/LPN preferred
