MCRA is seeking an eager and energetic international professional to focus on business development for the firm’s International business lines. The Associate, International Business Development is a critical Business Development team member primarily responsible for conducting research and sales activities for the company’s International (Europe & Japan) Regulatory and Clinical services, as well as cross-selling MCRA’s additional core service lines (reimbursement, digital health, compliance, and quality assurance). This individual will be responsible for developing and executing business growth strategies, business development support, research, logistics, and project support for the Company’s business development department, as well as updating the Company’s NetSuite CRM database, assisting with proposals and agreements, sourcing, negotiating and implementing new client opportunities, and tracking and reporting on the company’s international business development opportunities and revenues.
Responibilities
- Gather industry intelligence to develop and execute business growth strategies within the European and Japanese markets.
- Conduct outreach to prospective clients
- Lead teleconferences and interface with clients and prospective clients at all stages
- Take thorough notes during client meetings to assist with follow up activities
- Develop and deliver sales proposals to prospective existing and new clients
- Drive contract negotiations and close sales proposals with new and existing healthcare clients
- Assist with streamlining new business generation and follow-up
- Work closely with top level leaders to develop business growth strategies and reporting mechanisms
- Work closely with business development team and department heads to write proposal content, and improve formatting
- Enter large volumes of company, contact, and communications information into a CRM
- Assist with developing detailed budgets for proposals
- Create professional corporate presentations
- Research, review and evaluate new business opportunities
- Develop dashboards and other reports with information on business opportunities, current projects, company performance, revenue generated, and revenue expected
- Perform analyses relating to the Company’s experience on specific project types and technologies
- Draft Non-Disclosure Agreements and Master Consulting Agreements (MCAs)
- Keep a record of all Agreements and note which Agreements have negotiated terms
- Assist with marketing efforts/materials including digital marketing campaigns and conference materials
- Assist with the coordination of international conference logistics
- Ensure all work products comply fully with standards, policies, and mission of MCRA.
Qualifications
- A bachelor's degree (or the international equivalent) with a strong academic background and a rich exposure to business, sales, or marketing required.
- Must have at least 2 years of experience in a sales focused position, international experience is required
- Direct experience in technical, business to business sales preferred
- Experience and familiarity with medical devices and/or the pharma industry is highly preferred.
- The ability to understand the financial objectives of the company and its individual business units.
- Strong research, analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Excellent organizational and prioritization skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines while working independently or as part of a cross-functional team.
- Strong intellectual curiosity and a desire to develop an in-depth understanding of systems, business processes, and complex issues.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex documents.
- Strong interpersonal relationship building skills
- Knowledge of medical, anatomical, and physiological terminology preferred.
- Knowledge of the medical device space highly desirable
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) and internet applications.
- Strong professionalism with customer relationships.
- Self-directed.
Special Requirements
- Bilingual in both English & Japanese is preferred but NOT required
- Travel up to 30% (to MCRA offices, for meetings, conferences, trade shows, etc.)
- Must be based in the greater Washington, D.C. area
