About Orpyx Medical Technologies Inc.

Orpyx develops digital therapeutics to extend mobility and health span for people living with diabetes. We are an ISO 13485 company committed to providing quality medical solutions that consistently meet customer needs and regulatory requirements. Orpyx® SI Sensory Insole System is comprised of sensor-embedded shoe insoles used to empower people with diabetes to extend mobility by preventing diabetes-related complications such as foot ulcers and amputation. The sensory insoles send feedback to an app-based display. The sensory data is uploaded to the Orpyx SI cloud-based dashboard, where the data can be remotely monitored between care visits by our credentialed care team. Our business model is a combination of medical device sales and SaaS (software-as-a-service) and meets the requirements for HCPCS and CPT reimbursement.

The Position

The Business Development Representative – Chicago will drive top line growth, secure contracting positions with orthopedic and podiatric practices in Chicago. Results achieved will be accomplished by implementing executive account management strategies, as well as cultivating relationships with key decision makers, including clinical staff, physicians, and corporate executives.


To achieve the targeted revenue and contract growth for this role, the successful candidate will create the commercial strategy and ultimately execute the plan with support from the senior leadership and internal teams to drive incremental growth within a specified geography. In addition, the Business Development Representative – Chicago will function as a single point of contact for specific accounts, cultivating and leveraging client connections at the executive and officer level to meet customer demands while also enabling long-term growth for additional solutions.


The Business Development Representative – Chicago is responsible for exceeding the Company's total US Region operating strategy related to sales orders and driving sequential growth. The successful candidate also acts as a recognized clinical expert for the firm and directs business development operations inside accounts and/or markets. The Business Development Representative – Chicago is responsible for new account generation and expanding utilization within contracted accounts.


The Business Development Representative – Chicago reports to Chief Commercial Officer and works as part of a cross-functional team.


Functional responsibilities include:


  • Coordinating corporate and enterprise contract proposals with designated internal teams
  • Keeping the Sales and Marketing teams promptly and accurately informed of competitive activities, industry trends, product acceptance, etc.
  • Building and maintaining awareness of ongoing industry changes as they relate to Orpyx’s functional areas of focus
  • Attaining annual gross revenue and patient targets enrolled in Remote Patient Monitoring
  • Achieving sales goals by bringing on new prescribers and retaining current prescribers through team selling clinics, physician offices, and within the corporate suite environment; provide accurate forecasting, where required
  • Assessing market trends and seek short- and long-term opportunities with multi-hospital health systems, supporting the strategic and tactical aspects of sales activities
  • Utilizing resources provided to enhance market knowledge and incorporate into strategies
  • Leading contract negotiations, extensions, renewal, and addendums
  • Directing current IDN contract portfolio down to the shareholder and affiliate level to maximize exposure
  • Providing input and instruction to all functions within Orpyx that support ongoing clinic agreements and enterprise sales development
  • Routinely interface with existing and potential key customers of Orpyx
  • Communicating strategy and tactical business plans to various Orpyx divisions, as needed, for proper preparation and adequate lead-time to support specified objectives
  • Establishing, maintaining, and growing business relationships with key decision makers and corporate suites in target accounts, working to understand and meet customer’s needs consistent with Orpyx’s mission
  • Complete sales admin requirements including proper documentation of sales calls, expense reports etc.
  • Maintaining a clean and safe working environment
  • Performing duties in a manner that is consistent with and committed to upholding the requirements of the quality management system

Additionally, due to the ever-changing and sometimes chaotic environment of an early-stage high-tech company, the Business Development Representative – Chicago may assume additional responsibilities, as required.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Sales/Marketing, Economics, or equivalent
  • 5+ years of sales experience including strategic selling and negotiation training, preferably within the healthcare sector
  • Must be willing to submit to a background investigation in accordance with State Law, including for example, verification of your past employment, criminal history, and educational background
  • Previous experience managing matrixed teams in both a direct and distribution model
  • Experience in selling to health systems, outpatient clinics, office-based physicians, directly or through indirect channels
  • Previous experience preferred within executive levels including Podiatry & Orthopedics
  • Experience interfacing with both internal team members and external customers as a part of a provocative-based sales process and approach
  • Financial/executive suite sales experience preferred
  • Self-directed, autonomous, and comfortable with change
  • Strong business acumen showcasing the ability to lead without having direct accountability of strategic partners
  • Proven results-oriented approach and a track record of successful consultative and strategic selling Demonstrated understanding of the healthcare continuum and care pathway selling process

Schedule: Regular, full-time


Work Location:
Must be located in Chicago.


Travel: Ability to travel up to 75% of the time.
