Position Summary
The Sales Account Manager's main goal is to generate new business revenue by conducting market research, identifying sales opportunities, initiating contact with prospects, ascertaining customer needs, and developing innovative solutions to close new accounts. This also includes daily contact with current customers, continuing to build business to business relationships through service, communication and industry knowledge.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Continued growth of active accounts
- Solicit potential customers for freight opportunities through cold calls, emails and face to face interaction.
- Provide profitable load coverage, personalized service and available capacity
- Present customers viable freight solutions
- Uphold MPL’s expected level of service through timely/accurate updates, accountability and all-around communication
- Self-motivated to deliver high-quality results
- Strong time management, networking and business development skills
- Work independently but also assist in group projects with effective communication and interaction
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- A Bachelor's Degree or higher is preferred but not required.
- General computer skills including Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Sales and/or Logistics background
