The Territory Sales Manager is responsible for understanding, developing and growing revenue and profits in their assigned territory by selling 80/20 product solutions to existing and new customers. These activities will be in partnership with our current distribution sales force as well as new and developing commerce opportunities. This individual is a key front-line person who performs numerous duties: selling, coaching, training, educating, problem-solving, managing, updating, and listening, public relations and continuous communications, to effectively cultivate sales successes in their territory. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Develop an in-depth knowledge of 80/20’s core products and services through completion of company sales assessments
- Continuous product and sales training vie structured and self-driven learning opportunities
- Utilize knowledge and skills to successfully grow the 80/20 business while monitoring distributors’ and customers’ sales data regularly in assigned territory.
- Use 80/20 Key Performance Indicators to measure and guide distributor sales performance
- Lead regular reviews of territory performance and offer strategic options
- Assist in creating and executing a territory sales plan that meets or exceeds established sales goals while supporting the company business objectives
- Meet regularly with distribution personnel and customers in sales territory to understand their evolving business needs
- Effectively communicate this collected market intelligence with 80/20 support departments (Marketing, Customer Service, Shipping, etc.) in a prompt and professional manner
- Remain updated on territory demographics, economics, growth opportunities and other relevant information
- Build long-term, productive and mutually beneficial relationships with existing and new customers and distribution partners
- Complete sales activity reports and presentations as needed
- Effectively plan scheduled field sales activities, focusing on performance objectives and balancing expense expectations
- Assist in Distributor Training program development and facilitation
- Contribute to strategic development and implementation of distribution growth initiatives
Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED along with Outside, B2B oriented sales experience, OR, College or University degree in Business or related field.
- Able to read, write, and speak English fluently. Second language fluency is welcomed.
- Comfortable and seasoned with frequent travel to distributors or customers.
- Exhibit an unconditional and engaged attitude towards 80/20’s products, services and support
- Is committed to continual personal growth and learning while working independently or with others.
- Showcases a professional appearance and presence at all times with a variety of customers, distributors, and other internal or external personnel.
- Has a mastery with communicating and presenting both in person and via telephone to distributor principles and sales personnel, and current and prospective customers
