ACCESS is looking for their Controller position with the right mixture of initiative, strategic thinking, and encompassing all aspects of accounting. A can-do attitude is a must, along with the ability to learn quickly, and adapt to a demanding work environment. This professional will be working with the accounting department across several business entities. Must have organization and time management skills and be able to prioritize tasks.

Qualifications for the Financial Controller:

  • Ideal candidate will have at least 5 years working in a financial role
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP
  • Solid knowledge of budgeting, data analysis, and full accounting processes
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel
  • Shown leadership and success in an Accountant role
  • A positive attitude
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are necessary
  • Highly motivated, organized, and ambitious individual who can excel in a team-oriented environment as well as working individually
  • Resourceful, well organized, highly dependable, efficient and detail oriented
  • Clear and effective communication skills with the ability to create strong relationships with project teams and constituents
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills
  • Demonstrate good judgement, develop practical solutions to problems, and understand the sense of urgency required to meet timely completion of major and minor milestones
  • Must work well in a fast moving environment

Responsibilities for the Financial Controller:

  • Leading, managing, and overseeing our Accounting Team.
  • Commercial, Residential Property Accounting, and possibly some construction accounting with our sister company – MONTAGE, including:
  • Financial Reporting, Analytics, Budgeting, JE, CAM, and Bank Reconciliations.
  • Tracking and Paying Mortgages and Real Estate Taxes.
  • Creating goals for the accounting department pursuant to growth and expansion of the company including:
  • Exploring automation options through utilization of new and/or existing software.
  • Process improvements in day-to-day operations.
  • Point person for high level accounting discussions with clients, ACCESS, and MONTAGE leadership:
  • Confidently liaising with clients on property accounting topics.
  • Attending high-level meetings to discuss issues/challenges and potential solutions in the department.
  • Initially working on process improvements between Property Management and corporate accounting, which could lead to additional projects on the corporate side.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $50,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
