SALES MANAGER

The Sales Manager will develop business through direct sales solicitation for an assigned market segment(s). He/she will be responsible for handling key customer base relationships, inquiries and lead requests for groups. This candidate will work with customers to align customer preferences with brand needs and actively up-sell each business opportunity to maximize revenues and drive customer loyalty. This position’s duties include prospecting, solicitation, networking/entertainment and meeting with clients to discuss the needs/details of the event, This position will then communicate those needs to the Operations team thoroughly to ensure a successful outcome. This position is responsible for driving customer loyalty by delivering service excellence throughout each customer experience. This position will process business correspondence and create contracts and other related booking documentation as required. This position requires excellent selling skills, strong communication skills, and a detailed understanding of sales and negotiating tactics, property operations, food and beverage, and planning.
Qualifications
- Exceptional prospecting and negotiation skills
- Prior hotel sales experience is preferred
- Strong revenue management skills to create financially sound group sales proposals.
- Competitive spirit with the ability to work in a fast paced environment and a strong desire to exceed revenue goals/expectations.
- Excellent customer service skills; demonstrates a positive attitude and is hospitable. Creative, genuine, service driven and passionate about exceeding Guest Expectations.
- Seeks out and participates in available training opportunities and applies learning and newly identified best practices where possible.
- Performs regular quality checks on events meetings and conferences to insure things are working smoothly.
- Responds to all issues (internal and external) in a positive manner and takes action to resolve.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
