Position Description: Clinical Specialist- Full Time Equivalent

Classification/ Reporting
Clinical Specialist- Full Time Equivalent- EXEMPT, reporting to the Area Sales Manager.

Description
In this high-profile role, the Clinical Specialist will be a proactive member of a dynamic sales and marketing team introducing a new and advanced technology and standard of care in critical care neurological patient management. The ideal candidate will be a high-impact, self-motivated and results- oriented individual desiring to work on a per diem basis educating clinical staff on the operation of the pupillometer and clinical concepts in pupillometry. In this full-time position, the Clinical Specialist will be assigned account- specific product training and clinician education program assignments to facilitate new technology installations by the Associate/Territory Manager and/or Area Sales Manager in targeted Level 1 and Level 2 trauma centers and stroke centers across their territory.

Responsibilities

  • Plans, organizes and conducts comprehensive product training and clinical education programs for nursing and physician staff, facilitating technology integration in new or existing accounts in Level 1 and Level 2 trauma centers and stroke centers.
  • Trains clinical staff in pupillometry and its application in the medical specialty areas of critical care unit nursing, neurocritical care, neurosurgery, stroke neurology, trauma and emergency medicine.
  • Reinforces and supports the integration of unit and hospital protocols, establishing the Neurological Pupillary index (NPi) adaptation and use of pupillometry as the standard of care in new and existing accounts.
  • Organizes and conducts supplementary ongoing training of product and clinical indications in current accounts, in collaboration with Territory Manager(s) and sales management.
  • Presents educational talks on behalf of NeurOptics at regional tradeshows and local hospital symposiums, educating clinicians on advanced concepts and clinical application of pupillometry.
  • Collaborates with the sales team in developing new account and existing account expansion targets, timelines, and conversion plans.
  • Develops clinical article and protocol/guideline reviews for the salesforce and per diem Clinical Specialist team, in conjunction with Sales Management.
  • Participates in regional and national medical tradeshows, representing NeurOptics products.
  • Supports ongoing training for new field personnel and per diem Clinical Specialists, as needed.

Compensation and Benefits
A first-year compensation opportunity of salary and quarterly commission bonus, and offers a monthly technology allowance. Eligibility for participation in the Company Stock Option Program following 12 months of continuous employment. General Qualifications

  • State board licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) is required.
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree is preferred.
  • Certification as a Critical Care Registered Nurse (CCRN) or Certified Neuroscience Registered Nurse (CNRN) is preferred.
  • One year of in-hospital critical care or Emergency Department nursing experience is required with specialization in neurocritical care preferred. A track record of staff education experience is preferred.
  • Clinical experience using pupillometry in the clinical setting is a requirement.
  • Current experience as a per diem NeurOptics Clinical Specialist is a requirement.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required.
  • Demonstrate an exceptional ability to lead group presentations.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • A self-starter who is highly motivated to excel.
  • Requires overnight travel with many early morning and evening customer presentations.
  • This position requires proof of COVID vaccination.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license.

Physical Requirements and Work Environment
The Clinical Specialist-Full Time (CS-FT) position primarily works outside of a traditional office environment, making daily customer sales calls or conducting training and inservice programs in hospitals and clinics. Daily territory travel is a fundamental job component, so the ability to operate a motor vehicle and maintain a valid driver’s license is required. The CS-FT position requires frequent driving, sitting, standing and walking. This position requires standing for extended periods when facilitating customer meetings or walking in hospitals and clinics. Daily use of a computer and other computing and digital devices is required. The physical demands of the position described herein are essential functions of the job and employees must be able to successfully perform these tasks for extended periods.
