POSITION PURPOSE

As Oppenheimer Companies, Inc., has built an over-the-top customer service culture within our business, this role will continue that ethos by providing exceptional support to advance the double-digit growth and profitability of the region working in conjunction with and in support of the V.P. of Member Development. The Member Services Representative will provide guidance to distributors for participation in key Golbon programs that will be mutually beneficial to the distributor and to Golbon. The Member Services Representative plays a key role in member satisfaction and retention. This contributor, as with all associates, contributes to creating an environment that promotes the Company’s guiding behaviors.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Growth of Distributor Members and Programs

  • Grow the food service business through Golbon approved suppliers.
  • Monitor monthly sales activity and analyze large variances.
  • Develop supplier conversion strategies and provide analysis for presentation purposes.
  • Research and develop target lists of prospective distributor members and maintain database for accuracy.
  • Coordinate communication and follow-up with prospective members in accordance with the Vice President of Member Development.

Distributor Awareness and Maximization of Participation in Golbon Programs, Events, and Promotion

  • Communicate special offerings, reports and any other Golbon opportunities deemed important to the distributor for their maximum satisfaction and financial return.
  • Develop targeted action plans and identify enhanced allowance opportunities.
  • Support member attendance and participate in all programs, events, and promotions.
  • Participate and present in regional focus/share group meetings, distributor training, regional food shows, or any other activities as needed.
  • Execute the new supplier onboarding process.
  • Assist and support maximum member participation in opportunity buys, Golbon brands, and committed volume purchasing programs.
  • Assist Vice President of Member Development in facilitating meetings that bring members together for purchasing and/or sharing of best practices and any other synergies.

Develop Distributor Marketing and Incentive Trip Plans

  • Assist member distributors in building marketing plans to help promote their products to their customers and generate incremental revenue for their company.
  • Assist member distributors in creating incentive programs to maximize their involvement and point accumulations in Golbon’s travel incentive programs.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • College degree in business or related field preferred.
  • Must have proven experience in sales, customer service and/or account management.
  • Sales experience in the food wholesale/distribution industry is preferred.
  • Analytical, results-oriented, self-starter, passion for learning, problem solver, proactive, self-motivated and self-starter are just a few of the preferred competencies.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication, organizational and project management skills are required.
  • Required computer skills: Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Occasional domestic travel required to attend Golbon conferences, distributor visits and various industry events – no more than 33%

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Must be able to sit for long periods of time.
  • Must be able to lift up to and including 40 pounds.
