Full description of the position

We are a fishing tackle store specializing in offshore fishing and looking for a full time sales associate that is highly motivated, a team player and can multi-task. This high volume, fast paced store is looking for a candidate with responsibilities including sales, customer service, cash register operation, stocking shelves, filling reels, etc.

Mandatory offshore fishing knowledge and experience is required. Knowledge of angling methods, fishing terminal tackle, fishing techniques & skills is required.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Help customers select appropriate rods, reels & tackle.
• Receive, stock & price merchandise.
• Fill customer fishing reels using special machines & knot tying techniques.
• Prior retail cashier or cash handling experience is preferred. Must be able to pay attention to details and properly use a calculator.
• Take phone orders and fill the order. May need to pack the order to ship.
• Order products from distributor.
• Learn and utilize UPS shipping program on computer.
• Answer phones courteously and professionally.
• Open & close tackle store.
• Perform cleaning of tackle store daily.
• Preferred experience in inventory management system.

TECHNOLOGY

• Must be able to use a computer proficiently & grasp instruction to new software programs.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• May need to load/unload a truck. Must be able to lift up to 60 pounds without assistance.
• Must be able to stand, sit bend & lift throughout the course of a scheduled shift.

HOURS

• The full time position requires the candidate to work 40 hours per week and will include working alternating or all Saturdays with a day off during the week as well as off on Sundays.

The store hours are between 7:30am to 6:00pm Monday through Friday and 7:30am to 5:00pm Saturday.

$16-$20 per hour Starting dependent on experience
