(Our listed pay is the base salary. In addition, this role is eligible for up to a 30% (of base comp) incentive program paid out quarterly*)

I. Job Summary

Primarily responsible for achieving top line revenue goals within the group and event market segments. More specifically, solicit new accounts, uncover new business with current accounts, develop proposals based on client’s needs and respond to RFPs, detail, service and manage on site group and catered events, while serving as the liaison between sales and food and beverage and operational departments. Host hotel sites, organize familiarization trips, attend local networking events, solicit business from Carillon residents and develop brand awareness of the Carillon Miami Wellness Resort.

II. Essential Job Functions

A. Responsible for activities related to the group and catering sales cycle and revenue generation from SMERF, MICE and corporate business segments among other opportunities.

B. Responsible for activities related to the group sales cycle and revenue generation from accounts related to insurance, legal, consumer products, finance, automotive, retail, production, entertainment, consulting, wellness, etc.

C. Analyze data, qualify and perform targeted prospecting for new business.

D. Maintain Sales Tracking System updated with detailed notes in activities through Sales Force and Opera PMS.

E. Understand and stay ahead of local group and event markets and competitive set.

F. Build long-term, value-based account relationships enabling the achievement of revenue targets.

G. Entertain clients in accordance with established hotel policies and guidelines.

H. Travel to key markets to meet with existing and new target accounts.

I. Maintain focus on future booking pace from established and potential accounts.

J. Manage group portals and website platforms (Cvent, HelmsBriscoe, Leading Hotels of the World, American Express Meeting & Events, etc).

K. Respond to group RFPs, send proposals, prepare and negotiate group contracts.

L. Understand and build brand awareness of Carillon Miami Wellness Resort by partnering with the GMCVB, GMBHA, local business chambers and other groups to establish and foster new business relationships while emphasizing the wellness and spa niche market for the brand.

M. Assist in completing group market segment components of the Marketing Plan.

N. Understand and develop hotel’s sales and catering strategies in order to generate appropriate group promotions, packages, etc.

O. Consistently meets/exceeds individual revenue goals (i.e.: room night and food and beverage and overall revenue production).

P. Achieve solicitation call requirements and perform outside sales calls.

Q. Represent hotel at travel industry tradeshows, conferences and meetings.

R. Ensures all billing and accounting process are executed for all group and catering business.

S. Maintain confidentiality regarding sensitive client data and hotel intellectual properties.

T. Work cohesively in a team environment or excel independently with minimal supervision.

U. Host sites inspections to showcase property to potential groups, catering events, business partners and team members.

V. Create and distribute group resumes, BEO’s for all while also leading pre con / post con meetings with all operational departments involved.

W. Collaborate with food and beverage departments to ensure all banquet requirements are met.

X. Deliver professional, engaging, and efficient guest service from initial contact to final follow up.

Y. Act as main onsite contact and manage banquet staff before, during and after events.

Z. Attends and participates in all pertinent meetings

AA. Perform any other duties as assigned by Management.

III. Education, Experience and Skill Requirements

A. Previous hotel group sales experience is required. Ideal to have experience in the Miami Beach/ South Florida market is preferred but not mandatory.

B. Experience with hotel PMS System (Opera) (preferred) or other PMS system and the Sales Tracking System currently in use is preferred, but not required.

C. Minimum 3 years of experience working with clients who have group business, both domestic and international markets.

D. Must possess excellent communication, organizational, written and verbal skills.

E. Demonstrates effective sales skills with the ability to close sales.

F. Highly motivated with strong closing skills.

G. Must be able to interact efficiently and professionally with a diverse group of people (i.e., potential guests, guests, management and staff).

H. Detail oriented and a good negotiator with strong presentation skills.

I. Well organized with the ability to follow through on all sales activities with accounts.

J. Able to analyze information, problem-solve and make practical decisions.

K. Ability to ensure confidentiality of guest and data.

L. Works well in a team environment and can excel independently with minimal supervision.

M. Ability to prioritize, organize work assignments and delegate responsibilities.

N. Flexibility to travel for training, meetings, conventions, trade shows and other business-related events.

O. Able to travel and possess all necessary documentation in order to do so.

Pay: $55,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
